The enemy is at it again.

Had a customer who owes me several thousands file chapter 11. That was supposed to be our Christmas money and Christmas bonuses for my guys. Got tons of work coming 1Q 2018, but that does us no good right now.

The enemy knows exactly where to hit me to do the most damage....

AND I’m sick.

I’m weak and beat down guys....
Please fire up the prayer cannons.

Sorry to hear Allen. We'll keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Alan, talk to an experienced bankruptcy attorney ASAP. You might be able to establish a claim that has preferential treatment or be able to establish a secured position (also preferential treatment for repayment).

Thoughts and prayers being sent!

Thanks guys....you have no idea how much your thoughts and prayers mean to me.

It’s a struggle, for sure, but the Bible mentions “longsuffering” more than once. I know this is the enemy attacking and he’s not going to win. Even if he takes me out of this world, Jesus still wins.
We’ve been beat down before, and we’ll recover.

This.

Filing for bankruptcy does not automatically mean one is absolved from any and all financial responsibility.

People/companies who do not contest anything in a bankruptcy are the ones who stand to lose out. So get an attorney and get represented in the bankruptcy.

Also...just because one has gone through a bankruptcy does not mean one is absolved of all other legal aspects of the debts one had.

For example, consider the issue of a bad check. Being absolved of the debt behind a bad check does not protect one from having written a bad check in the first place. Criminal charges can still be brought up against someone for having written a bad check, even if they aren't required to make good on the debt due to the bankruptcy.

Which means you may still have options open to you on debt collecting from someone who had gone through a bankruptcy.

Again...get an attorney.
