Leaving tomorrow. Arrive in China on Wednesday. Return November 10 so only 16 days in China this time.
Gotta bring a suit though. Presentation before a Guv grant panel. Basically I have to lie my arse off about my commitment to the company.
[If I could afford to take a 50% cut in pay to change jobs I would.]
China still came bLock my VPN KUNGFU. [emoji16]

Can you browse with TOR from there?

Man that's a long tough trip, I feel for you. I'm trying to get out of a trip to Grenoble next month myself. At least Chinese people probably bathe more often than French.... ahckkkk!

16 days is a short trip. Usually these are a month long. Last one was 5 weeks.

I left Saturday for three weeks in Serbia. Not quite the same duty but at least it is easy to find Kung Pao Meow over here.

While you're there, go to the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and kick the closest Terracotta Warrior in the jaw, step back and watch them all topple into each other like Terracotta Dominoes!!
Then roll around on the floor laughing maniacally and screaming "CHING-CHANG-CHUNG, CHA-CHA-CHA", over and over.
Do it!
It'll be funny as hell and be all over YouTube.
You'll be a Star!

It's on my "F@#k It" list.

I'd be such a drunk slob. Good for you swimming and behaving like a decent human. I fear I'd be weak. Guess that's why I have turned down some jobs over the years. Be safe and swim miles.
Have to swim my FENIX 5X to meters for the swim there. Pool length is 22m [emoji6]

We are in a "new" corporate apartment this trip. Sux. Basically 1 small step above sleeping on the floor in the office.
Ceiling in the upper bedroom is not even 1 inch taller than me.
The "living room" is too small for more that one person to occupy without feeling crowded.
Have to use a portable cook top because there is no stove.
And the elevator has that NYC Public Housing decor. All the phone numbers lb the wall in it are for escort services.

Do those characters translate as, "For a good time call..."?

Business dinner last night with a vendor in Hangzhou.
Mojitos. Pretty good Mexican food for being in China. I saw more American/ Europeans there than in any one place in all my Hangzhou trips.
Busy place.

It turns out that the guy sitting across from me (end left) worked on one of my projects at a former employer. Never met him before the meeting at their plant earlier in the week.
We were talking about copper pillar development and he described the project I had worked on. He was on the process side of things, behind the scenes. He also lives in the Triad area, is a naturalized US citizen, so I told him I'd take him to Calibers for some American style team building. :D;)

Did you ever get to the Hooters in Hangzhou? That was a pretty funny experience for me.

Another "business" dinner tonight with a local government guy.
Have to assume he is a communist party member and is supposed to report back whether we are sufficiently pro-China.
Must have my best fake face on. Sorry if like when I pretend to be an extrovert even though I'm naturally an introvert.
And of course I won't say I have a call with a competitor as soon as we get back to the States.

Make sure and tell him about all the weapons you own and how frequently you concealed carry. That should make for a fun evening. :D

By the way, how will you answer when he pulls out his notebook and asks who you voted for?

:D

recorded a short video of what the pollen is doing to my lungs.
No infection yet. But if this doesn't clear it will be one by the time I get home.
