I bought a hi-point 995 with an ATI stock from a great board member and finally got it to the range the other day.

This is my third hi-point carbine and it is such a blast to shoot! I've had a 995 that I regretted selling and still have a 995ts. There was basically no recoil with some federal aluminum 115 grain. Easy to punch 1" holes at 25 yards. No hiccups or failures.

I like the ATI stock. Feels a little better to me than the stock 995ts stock that I have. The trigger is nothing to write home about, but I'm not using this for precision long-range shooting competitions.

I also have a Kel-tec Sub2000. The weight of hi-point makes it more enjoyable to shoot.

For cheap, accurate, reliable range and plinking fun these are hard to beat!

No pics, but I figured I would post this stolen internet pic so people could see what it looks like with the ATI stock

Those things are a lot of fun and work great.

Yes they do. I like my 995 big time.

Like the RedBall 20 round magazines also. The RB guys also just came out with 20 round mags for the .45 carbines. Double stack on the bottom tapering up to single stack.

Was the member really good looking????
Most people that don't like Hi point have
Never owned one. Out of the 9mm carbines I've owned the 995 fit my needs best.
S2k,, fine rifle but seemed like it would break if dropped.
Evo Scorpion,, another fine rifle but not worth the money to me. It didn't shoot any better than a Hi point so I sold it too.

I bought one for $140 years ago off the old forums and the family shot a lot of rounds through it over the years. Still functions great and very little bother with detailed maintenance, just a quick wipe down and lubrication periodically.

Let me help you.....

This thread coming back up encouraged me to get my 995 out today and shoot it some. Three 19 round magazines and two 20 round magazines. 124 grain 9mm NATO makes the gongs ring with authority. Hard not to like one of these.

Looks almost like my Beretta Cx4. I like happy endings.:)

I'm sorely tempted to get one of those new bullpup stocks for the 995, but dang they ain't cheap.

On the other hand, I like sci-fi inspired firearm design.

Very cool! Like bull pups and this one as well...except for the unusually large, square hand guard around the pistol grip.

You have to remember it's still a Hi Point. I'm a big a Hi Point fan . They have too leave at least one ugly thing on it for Hi Point Purist out there.

Ha good point! Guess it gives a place for the support hand if you don’t add a verticle grip or want to hold that short rail. Looking closely at the pic above, it looks like it could possibly be removed or at least dremeled off! ;)

I bought one of the original "monkey stocks" from LGS for $75. I brought it home and Geezer and I stripped it down with no sights. I then put a $29 red Dot on it. That rifle became such a pleasure for new shooters that it was amazing. Red on target, press, Clang!! I eventually sold it because sometimes I do stupid stuff for no real reason.

This is my 9mm PCC...

After the New Year, I'm gonna get me a Hi Point 1095 Realtree Edge!

I have a 1095 and it shoots very well! It was at least as much fun and as accurate as the aero survival rifle in 10mm.

Mag compatability is the main drawback! I'm guessing/hoping that redball will eventually make a 10mm-20 round mag...

Seventy Five? If I saw one for that price I would snag it.

I just bought this 995 and had to add couple of things to make it mine. I wasn't expecting much for $225 new but I was surprised. This is a fun gun to shoot, best cheap money gun Ive ever seen.

I've had 2 995s and I put the ATI stock on both of them. I just can't own a weapon that makes me wince every my eyes happen across it. That was before the re-design, but I think I'd do the same thing today.

One of our shooters is a lineman. While working one day he spotted a carbine in a roadside ditch. He retrieved it, took it home and worked on it to de-rust and mud it. He got it to where the bolt would open but didn't want to shoot it because the barrel was so obstructed. He put it in a box and sent it to Hi Point and within a week he had a New Carbine. True story.

That's why I got mine with the RealTree Camo option... at least the camo pattern is nice to look at, and you can't see the gun at all in the woods. ;)

I've usually found that the people that like to bash Hi Points (or other guns) have never owned or even fired the guns that they like to bash.

Precisely why it’s so much fun. :D

Anyone have any idea about the accuracy of this 995 that I now own ? I was reading some reviews from some folks saying that they are getting 3-4 inch groups at 100 yards. I only shot mine once so far and I was having some trouble hitting a clay bird at 25 yards. Sometimes it would ,sometimes just close and just about the same accuracy as I get out of my 1911 using my reloads. Think Im going to drag out the gear I use for small bore bench rest comps and give it a proper test.

What sights are you using?

I don’t think I ever got sub 5 inch groups at 100, but I never spent any real time shooting at that distance.
I just use a green dot reflex sight because, for what I use it for ? The Grand kids are used to it and the rare occasion I use it for a 3 gun comp, we only shoot at 50 yard max anyways. I already know Im going to lose the match anyways, no sense in spending a lot of money . Appreciate your response, I think your results are more correct then what I read on the Internet.
