So I started a thread a few weeks ago on building a 10/22 Kidd build. Hit a curve in the road and went a different direction altogether. I found a Anschutz 1416 DHB for sale and decided to pursue that instead. This model is discontinued now. It had a single stage trigger and beavertail forearm as well as the heavy barrel. Production date on this one was 2007, nice wood on it too. .22LR of course. It should work good as a bench
shooter. Feel free to post photos of other Annies if you have one.

It
Very nice. How does it shoot and what ammo does it like best?
It likes Eley Black box. But my wallet likes Eley Target. The difference being the black box I will very seldom have a flier. The target will normally have one or two out of 50. I use to compete locally and then I would shoot black box for competition and target for practice. Should add the rifle is a lot more capable then me.

@Amps 13 Coming for you guys. Trigger adjusted to 13.5 ounces. Waiting on new scope. Went old school with Weaver T36 discontinued Japan glass. I found one for sale, my first fixed power scope. Hopefully I can see the target and then deliver the round where it's suppose to go. Just kidding with the call out, I'll just be happy to start shooting again. :)

Everything I see on the T36 looks positive. Makes you wonder why the discontinued the model.
Can not remember for sure but Weaver Optics was shut down when they were bought out by some investment group. ATK or something like that. I believe they own Bushnell also.

I had a T-36 on a 22LR target rifle years ago.
Shooting it the first time I saw something after a few shots.
Turned out to be the bullet.
You could watch it rise and then fall into the target.

Canā€™t wait to see you back kicking my butt once again! @Eric F shouldn't have all the fun of doing that alone.

The Rimfire Central Forum is a good place to find them. That's where I found mine and there is another T36 for sale now.
I watched it pretty frequently. Thatā€™s actually where I picked up my last Anschutz. The 36s seemed to come up more than the 24s for whatever reason.

My 1416 bought in Germany 45 years ago at a rod and gun club

Thought I would give some results of the first outing with the 1416 Annie. This was a target for the month on the rimfire challenge. Dots are 1/2" shot from 50 yards. Shooting 2 vertical rows with 2 rounds trying not to break out. Shows some potential with Lapua ammo. Just need some more trigger time. Speaking of , I now have the trigger adjusted to 10 ounces.

Looking good. You will get there. Trigger time and breathing. I use to sit for hours at 25 yards until I could shoot 50 shots with 25 holes. It takes practice. Then move to the 50 yard line and shoot USBR targets. The highest score I ever got was a 245 15x. Could not even come close to that today. Age & health get in the way now.

I know what you mean. I'm 67 and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Had a heart attack last year and two stents, then in January I had 3 more stents. So I am feeling better but certainly not what I used to be. Luckily (PTL) I am still here and able to shoot.
Will be interesting to see if the trigger work will help. I really like that T36 scope, in fact I just bought another one for my main rimfire CZ 457 VPT.

I usually donā€™t tell a guy this but thatā€™s some beautiful wood you got there! Glad you are healthy enough to get out and shoot. Canā€™t wait to see that thing kicking our butts in the Rimfire challenge again.

šŸ¤£ Why thank you! I just saw another one for sale on the Rimfire Central Forum classifieds. Still in the box with foam intact. Beautiful gun in the same configuration ( beaver tail fore end). Not a bad deal on it either.

This afternoon late I saw a field mouse going into my open storage building. I hate those things. I got out the Annie and a magazine full of Lapua and waited in the sniper hide. When he finally showed again it was getting dark. I creeped out on the patio and could barely make him out. Touched off one round from 30 yards... Down Goes Frazier... Shooting the on line challenge paid off. For me...... not the mouse! šŸ¤£ šŸ¤£
