This is a strange request but after picking up an old Marlin to hang on our cabin wall I’m looking for some inert antique or old looking shells to go with it for display.

I have reloaded plenty of rifle and handgun rounds over the years but do not have access to any shotgun loading equipment. Can someone point me in the right diction of where I could buy them or if someone is willing to make some? Wouldn’t need but 5 or so 12 gauge shells. The older looking the better.

Would prefer them to have a spent primer and no powder but be the similar weight to a normal shell. Pic for attention and thanks ahead of time!

I might have some old paper ones loose (not boxed) that I inherited from a friend who passed away. they are live loaded shells, but you are welcome to some if I have them. I can look later today

Buy some magtec brass shotgun shells. Ballistics products has had them regularly. To age them, get a 5 gallon bucket and cut some wood to fit the bottom such that you can drive nails vertically into it to hold the shells off the wood and in the air. Then degrease the shells and place them on the nails. Put a small container of ammonia (1/3 cup or so) in the bottom and seal the bucket with some plastic wrap. The fumes will age the brass in a bout 8-12 hours. Then I just hit them on a buffing wheel to create the burnished look.

The shells are LPP so find someone that is depriming spent LPP and then just put them in. I usually use my 45acp casings from my 1911.

If you want old paper shells, hit up the antique places, the larger the better, usually there's one booth that has a couple boxes for $10-30.

Some barn wood shelves I made a few weeks ago.
