Kinda sorta looking for a .327 or .32 H&R revolver, ideally something that could be possibly be a carry option as opposed to a range toy only. Looks like the Ruger SP101 is 4.2" barrel only, then there's the LCR and seems Charter makes the undercoverette in .32 H&R (but only as a 5 round.) Anyone have first hand experience with these guns or other models I should look at ?

I sold a S&W model 16-4 a few years ago. K frame 4" barrel in .32 H&R mag. What a great shooter.

My suggestion is go with the 327 this leaves you a wide selection to use in the gun.it fire the 32 h&r,,the 32 smithand wesson calibers even the 32 ACP ,if you're looking for shorter barrel look around for a used tarus Snubbie or one of the earlier sp 101 with the shorter barrels, if not mistaken their was one of the taruses on another forum not long ago,,with the ability to be so versital, I don't know why this caliber hasn't devoleped a bigger following, just my opinion, love mine it's one of those I'll never sell it revolvers,

I want buy a Ruger Single Seven so bad. I'm in love with the idea of the 327 but, not sure I want another caliber to load for. I don't know how close you are to purchasing but, Cabelas was blowing out 327 American Eagle Ammo for 18 bucks per 50 a month ago.

I already bought good Hornady dies to load for the rounds, so I'm not gonna get deeper in till I settle on the firearm. I really think the LCR barrel is too short to get much out of the .327 round, probably more suited to the .32 H&R and below. The Single Seven interests me, as does the SP101 but Ruger annoys me with all their sharp edges that really need a melt job, even with casual handling I find a lot of the newer Ruger steel revolvers appear unfinished.

I know Smith and Wesson made the model 632, but I've ever only seen one and not sure I want to lay down that kind of money- I suppose if the price was right I'd jump on it.

I've been wanting to get a 32 Federal for a while now. I wonder if Ruger is making an SP101 with a 3" barrel and adjustable sights? I think that would be the way to go for me.

I had a blackhawk in 327. What a pistol. I deer hunted with it.

you had? If you still have it is love to buy it. Those Blackhawks and gp100 in 327 are rare as hens teeth unless you order of a gun broker type sight. I prefer to touch and feel a firearm before I drop 500 plus bones on it.

I understand completely. My last two stainless Ruger revolvers had sharp edges . I lightly filed them, then scuffed the metal with steel wool, then hit it with enough mothers mag polish to blend it with the rest of the revolver. The finishes aren't amazing but the price is right. If you buy a Ruger just know that most likely your going to have to put a lil elbow grease in.

My gp100 44 spl has a horrible trigger but, I know that springs and about 2 hours of polishing and it will be smooth.

I sold it. 327 out of thst 5.5 barrel with some buffalo bore was a bad bad boy. I believe it could take grizzly.

Love my LCR in .327. I purchased it as backup carry gun and alternative to .357/.38 special snubbies for training purposes. I have encountered far too many folks who have purchased the .357's and found out they were not very comfy to shoot, therefore turning them against shooting overall.

If Ruger offered the LCRX 3" in .327 I'd have one tomorrow.

I'd go with the 327. Packs a good wallop I've herd. I've been casually browsing for something along the 327 lines. Not sure if I want another caliber to load for.

I have three Ruger Single Six 32's, and a Marlin Cowboy 32, all reamed to 327.
Also got a S&W 432 PD that's still in the original 32 HR chambering... still thinkin' 'bout reamin' that'n.
I put a reproduction flip-up ladder sight on the Marlin, gonna try it at a 500 yard range in a couple weeks!

Some pretty single actions, right there. Love the brass frame.

Alfred? Did you end up buying one?

Sorry for late reply, been traveling a lot and not checking in on forums. Nope, still on the prowl for the "right" revolver, also juggling space in the safe as these damn .38 Specials seem to keep multiplying on their own ;)

Indeed. Most accurate revolver I've ever owned. :) I was going to send the cylinder off to get reamed to .327, but after seeing how accurate it was as-is, I left it as-is.

I didn't really realize what a truly great shooter it was till I bought another K frame in a larger caliber. I am still very happy to know that someone I know appreciates it like you do. I tend to sell or trade things I don't shoot (the heresy), so I have no regrets, but that .32 mag is elevated to the pantheon of the few really great guns that Fieldgrade has had the privilege of owning and shooting.

I see your location is RTP, if you are a member of Wake County Range, give me a shout. I can arrange for you to try mine.
