Any experience with WC-846

Good to see pull down powders for sale. I may grab some 844 soon and start loading all my hoarding ammo with it

I believe that @Jerzsubbie is loading it.

I’ve been loading wc-844 and have been pleased with it.

Actually, I went the route of MP440 (Ramshot Tac), and I haven't loaded anything with it yet. Just stashing it all away for a rainy day, at the present.

I have not used the WC-846, but have used 16 lbs of WC-844 without any issues. I bought 16 more pounds recently when they ran it on sale. I miss the days when you could get it for less than $10/lb.

If you order 32# from AR it is $12.12/lb. Better than the $13.75/lb from Bartlett.

I wait until AR runs it at 20% off. Their price includes shipping and hazmat.

I shot my first loads with this doing the recommended 10% less than the equivalent canister powder, which is BLC2. This stuff is much hotter. Even at minimum loads, it was shooting faster than maximum on the BLC2 and had the occasional sticky bolt. Needless to say, accuracy was terrible as well. I'm going to drop way down and try again this weekend.

Since I was so far off, I'm going to use the '1 grain velocity' that the Lee book shows for certain powders. In the case of BLC2, it is .9787 for 150 grain bullets. My target speed is 2780 so I'll reduce looking for that.
