I started charting up my ammo testing to see what my pistols like and what they don't. Then I got to thinking, maybe other people would want to chime in with their experiences and we could build a spreadsheet/chart/database/whatever of all the gun/ammo combinations people have tried. Not science, but maybe if 22 were to get scarce and you couldn't buy your favorite you might want to know what others have tried with your gear and had good results with?

Obviously it's all subjective, but if the answer you want to know is "will this cycle my pistol" it might be handy.

Anyone interested? People could post info into the thread and I can just update the sheet and keep a PDF/CSV/XLS copy in the post so you guys could grab it. Maybe leave the shooter name off so we're not building a database of who might own what sort of toys... and perhaps add a "comments" field for any random data.

Like the idea, but you may need to define the performance levels. Like 1 fte in 100 is equal to a 4. Something like that.

i wish there was a large excel sheet of load data for all powders by caliber by bullet weight/type/lengths

It's a good idea.
There is this though; there is a reason Federal auto match stayed hard to get for so long. It will run a pistol when nothing else will.

I've seen identical pistols where one would run Federal 745 (bulk 550 pack) and the other wouldn't.

A chart would be nice, but a rough guide.

I was actually thinking it should be simpler, rather than 1-5 just something along the lines of "works", "sorta works" or "doesn't work". If you're trying to buy and all you can find is "sorta works" then you know what you're signing up for. 1-3 I guess, less refinement needed.

I have never had very good luck with Remington 22 ammo and frequently cannot get some Aguila to work the actions on several autoloaders. Some of the Remington would not even fire in several different firearms. The Federal auto match seems to be the best I have been able to get recently. I just found several boxes of CCI Mini Max and am looking forward to testing them. I also got some Browning ammo that needs testing.
