Anybody have any experience with the Rugged Razor 7.62? Looking to buy it as my first rifle suppressor. Is it a good company?

thanks!

Excellent company. I’ve even need able to visit the shop and meet Henry and Mike. Even shot at their one-lane range out back.

No firsthand experience with the Razor, though.

@Dsking85

I’ve got experience with a Razor and Surge.

The Razor is my personal choice of the two, unless I was suppressing a beast of a caliber like 300WM+. The razor is 6.4” and 15.3oz. The Surge at its shortest/lightest is 17.5oz and 7.5” (21.5oz and 9” with the extra module). That’s a big can. Both have Stellite cores with 17-4 tubes

If I had to add one to the list, the Micro30 is a phenomenal can for the size, and only a tad more than the Razor. If I had a compact 300BLK rifle, this would be in my collection. 6.5”/5” and 15.1oz/11.8oz. Stellite core w/ 17-4 stainless tube.

If you still want to maximize sound reduction and minimize weight with modularity options, the Radiant is awesome. (7.5”/5.1” and 12.5oz/9.4oz). Stellite baffles and Ti tube... it’s a few hundred more than the Razor, about the same $ as Surge

Here’s a cutaway Rugged posted during SHOT:

I was on the range about a month ago with a friend who left the 5.56 cap on his Razor and mounted it on his 300BLK. The aperture size was just large enough to allow the .30 cal bullet to exit without any contact but after checking, that suppressor was as perfectly concentric as I could tell without being able to use tools to measure it. He got stupidly lucky

Thanks everyone! I think I’m going to go with the razor. I really like the idea of a SS tube. Silencershop has them for 619 now and a $50 gift card which will get me a 5.56 end cap.

Bought the razor with an extra 5.56 flash hider. Will buy the 5.56 end cap when I get the $50 silencershop rebate. This will be for my 300bo, 5.56 and .308 ARs. Love the size/price/caliber rating combination. This will be my first post-new rule nfa item. I hear the wait is much longer haha. I remember when I got my Ti-rant and spectre in under 3 months.

With every bit of encouragement I can muster, I’ll recommend not buying the 5.56 end cap...

The only way I’d do it is if I was dedicating it to a 5.56 host. I’ve done this with a 45 can on my AR9, and a Saker 556 on a 5.56 AR. But there’s no way I’d do it for a can i was swapping around.

Use the $50 for another muzzle device.

You might see a 1-2 dB drop, and you might see nothing. What you will get is the annoyance of having to swap the cap, keep checking to see which one is installed, and the possibly of an end cap strike.

Just my 2¢

Good point. I’ll find something else to get. I’ll have to decide quickly, I only have a year. Probably a brake mount for my AR10.

You shot my MK18 with a Razor!

@Dsking85 I know I’m late to the party but I can’t say enough about Rugged as a company and the Razor as a product. Has a great, deep tone on my 10.3” 5.56 and on my 12.5” AK.

Awesome, it sounds like rugged really has their stuff together. I read great things about their warranty and that means a lot to me for a non user serviceable suppressor. I was looking into another company but read a lot of bad things about them, their behavior and their warranty.
