Man.....I'm tired.

Feels like I just never stop. Almost like I'm a runaway train which worries me about the final crash.

I currently work nights so I feel like I work all night, go home, fall asleep within 30 minutes, get up about 1 or 2 and then off to the races of getting my boys, getting things ready for soccer practice, doing schoolwork, getting dinner ready, etc, etc, etc. On top of that, going through a work injury and all the related doctor appointments during the day and the misfortune of a broken tooth yesterday which threw the dentist into the mix.

Yesterday with home school, the dentist, occupational therapy and then pulling my overnight shift....was a 23.5 hour day before I got to get some sleep....

Man I need a break....

Ya'll ever get to the point that you just feel like a lawn dart?

Your not alone, I work two part time jobs because my business I have crappy work coming in and I can’t make ends meet....thank God I shave my head or I would have pulled I all out by now!!!

Active duty USMC, finishing out last semester for my Bachelor's degree, wife is finishing her Masters, father of two boys (1 senior one in 4th grade), 4th grader plays soccer & baseball, and I was just exposed to COVID on Monday.

Yep, stressful... but as it has been said, "That's why I drink at night."

Guess tipping some back may have to be squeezed in there somewhere....LOL

Full time dad, full time Product Manager, full time student and the wife asked why I drink most nights. Lol

I told my wife once I was drinking because she didn’t give me any better alternatives. That bought me about a week or two of good times with no booze. Your milegae may vary.

I was like that for 15 years. Looking after Mom, school full-time for 10 years, chemo and a few surgeries. Watch that crash....hope it's not too bad.

(I also usually worked at least two jobs and for a long time three, before I crashed, and retired to move to NC and look after Mom.)

You know boys, I put it all in high gear a few years ago over a really bad failed relationship, career change, among other things. Didnt have time to do crap, and I was exhausted. It will get better. I finished my undergrad, did my MBA in 2 years straight through. Im 49. Everything you guys mentioned up there is to better yourself. Be proud, stick with it, know there is light at the end of the tunnel. All this education, work, etc is putting you in a place you will need to be, over another candidate/person somewhere down the road. Opportunity will come knocking when you least expect it.

Fortune favors the prepared mind. Sometimes you dont see the "reason" but it will make itself known when its time. You just have to make sure you have prepared for it. Of course this goes for a lot of things. I did all of this school, put money back, worked several jobs, and the "good" job came available. One that would not have been offerered to me, had I not had the education/experiance. When I was in school, this opportunity wasnt out there. It was a "goal I was working toward" It was "just be competitive". Kids will get older, things will even out, just prepare yourself the best you can. You are doing a good thing. Ive had freinds that think they will just "get prepared" when opportunity arises. Its too late then.

Welcome to my world. Especially, if you have kids. Back when my kids were in private school and soccer and scouts, etc, I remember figuring out that I was spending 8hrs a day in the car!
Things are a little better now. The COVID relieved me of a major time consumer... work.

I don’t know how y’all with kids manage it all. My hats off to you.

I’m gonna stick with my cats and rock n roll lifestyle. And, no, I can’t babysit this Saturday!

Yeah, I’m a little busy myself.

I was stitching holsters the evening after my surgery. Off work from the real job 13 days. Spent most of that time working on holsters.

Back to work today and sold 4 holsters and several messages to get too. It would probably be even busier if I wasn’t still waiting on leather.

Round and round it goes.

Yep, it’ll get better! I was doing all of the things to drive me crazy when I was in my 40s and 50s. Work, kids, running everybody everywhere and the wife and I on two different orbits! The kids got married off and now there’s grandkids ( a really good thing!) I retired from the Army, the wife has slowed down to a point, and I’ve settled into a slower lifestyle. I go fishing in the morning, hang out at either the marina or the gun shop, I shoot at least 1 day a week, fish again the evening, hang out at the cabin on the weekend, and scuba dive at least once a week. Today I shot 2rounds of skeet this morning and then got a dive in this afternoon. But the best thing, hang out with the grand babies! They keep me going now and I love it! I want them to experience everything they can with me and have good memories when I’m gone! I’m not rubbing it in you guys, just explaining that life is what you make it and sometimes it is hard work with family, work, relationships and kids, but it does get better! There’s a season for everything!

yes. soloing it currently.

work 2 jobs when i don’t have my kids, chaotic fun when i do.

wake up at 6:30ish am, go to bed around 11-12 at night, rinse and repeat.

There is not enough time in the day

I wonder why that is?

We live in a time when communication is just as easy as picking up the phone and dialing or texting. Not like our grandparents or great grands who wrote letters. Imagine our world like that. We also have tons of labor(time saving) devices. Washing machine(we don't have to beat them out on a rock. Dryers so we don't have to hang them on the line. Washing dishes is as easy as pushing a button. Ironing clothes is thing of the past.

Sweeping the floor is replaced by a much faster vacuum cleaner(we even have robot vacs that do it for you). Travel is so much easier and faster. When I was kid we visited grandma every 2 weeks, and everyone came. Now we rarely ever visit family because we travel faster and we can go anytime we want yet we don't go.

We have all kinds of fancy power tools to make a job easier and faster. I found out just how much faster when I did the noodle board in the DIY section. I planed most of the boards by hand and it took forever. But I enjoyed it a lot more.

There are a lot of other examples of things that save us time yet we still don't have enuff time in the day. I wonder how it would be if we had to chop wood just to stay warm. Go figure.

I used to feel like that - until I retired. Now I’m still busy as hell, but I don’t feel the time pressure. If anything, I’m busier than before, because I know our time here is not unlimited, but at least I don’t have to keep one eye on the clock. My point is, hang in there, it will get better.

Sometimes, yes.
Last week I felt like I didnt stop much.
Had soccer 4/5 nights then Saturday, not getting home till 8 or so most nights.
