Anybody have a Peanut Brittle Recipe???

Several years ago an older cousin of mine from Florida was up here and made her homemade peanut brittle for us. Ever since then store bought just isn't as good. She has dementia now so I can't get the recipe from her. I was hoping someone here could help out.

My grandmothers handwritten recipe is in a shadow box my wife made for me, with some of her stuff in it. It’s actually a pecan brittle recipe, pronounced pee-can. It’s the real deal, but not far off what @beamernc posted above. Let me know if you need me to pull it out and post it, no problem.

Did this pecan brittle have the little bubbly texture or was it like hard candy? With that much baking soda I'm wondering if it is the light crunchy kind.

Kinda in between, honestly. It was thin and smooth, but did have light bubbles. I think the baking soda added to the flavor, oddly. Of course, it’s been 15-20 years since she made any. My wife makes it and it’s delicious to me. The water probably smooths it out some too.
