I have a set of Redding dies and fixing to buy most likely a CZ 527 Varmint. I have no idea what weight bullet to shoot or the go-to-powder. The gun has a 1:12 twist rate with a 24" heavy barrel. I will be shooting paper and steel.

Most likely I will buy some factory ammo to get the brass.

Any information that you can offer would bet great.

For a baseline get a variety of factory from 35gr and up. Let me know how they do and I'll dump some loads on you. I run mostly 35 grains.

ReelDoc, I bought 4 boxes of the Hornady V-Max 35 grn today and also ordered 250 V-max bullets and 100 Hornady cases. If the gun shoots the V-max factory loads good, I will try some different powders to try and match the velocity. The Redding dies that I have are FL dies and thinking about ordering a neck sizing die since I only have one 204 Ruger.
