I was stuck inside all weekend and ended up watching some AAF football.

All in all, I'd say it's pretty darn good for a 2 week old league. The actual football was good, unlike what I remember from the XFL with gimmicks or Arena with hockey rink size field. Although, I actually enjoyed the speed of the Arena game, it just wasn't "football'.

I watched some yesterday when golf was in commercial. I do like that they cut 5 seconds out the play clock.

Ive seen most of 2 games, its got some rough edges to smooth out but seems to be decent for what it is. My son and I quit the NFL but both still like football so with college over this isn't too bad. Not hard to see why most of these players aren't in the NFL. Receivers that miss easy passes, quarterbacks that are often inaccurate and make some bad decisions, stuff like that. Then again I think this was just organized a couple months ago, maybe by midseason the level of play will go up a bit.

Looked online, tickets are $20 and the stands don't seem very crowded so a family of 4 could go catch a game that doesn't last forever, not spend a total fortune, and have pretty good seats for the action. It may take off.

I listened to an interview with one of the founders recently. I liked...

- They aren't trying to compete with the NFL. They fully acknowledge it's a developmental league and have structured everything from their season to player contracts with that in mind.

- They are approaching it right from the get go as a "media, marketing and platform" focused business with football as the focus. Meaning, they understand that their $$ is going to come from fan engagement through fantasy, apps, marketing, etc. instead of ticket sales.

- They've structured player deals to incentivize fan interaction - which definitely means players are DISincentivized to be off-field idiots.

I watched the opening night game (Atlanta @ Orlando). It was fun for what it was. Not as much fun as I remember the USFL being, but more fun than the OMG level awful that was the WLAF (at least as far as the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks went).

YES! Then again......Im a diehard football fan. I watched the womens lingerie league for the short time existed. Those women were nasty!
