Anyone auto-X or track their car?

Thanks but no.
Seriously, thanks for thinking of me, but I didnt get the call back, no spots opened up.
Bummer
But Im signing up for July 10th at Charlotte and they're doing a VIR one sometime too

It's all good, gives me more time to buy other things...like the sway bar end links which are clunking around. I'll order those in the morning

Maybe you can get in an autocross in the mean time.

If I may interject, after years of working pit road for nearly every group that has been to VIR, I was asked regularly for my advise on track days. The best one I could give was, don't take your car onto the track unless you can write it off and walk away. It happens and I've seen too many times, drivers, after a total wipe out, sitting around saying, "my wife is gonna kill me'.
My boss has a new GT4 that replaced his Cayman RS that he only uses at the track. He was up at VIR a couple months ago and a guy was in front of him with a brand new Camaro ZL1 he bought the week before. It was supposed to be his daily driver and weekend track car. Ended up totaling it after owning it 5 days. Fortunately he or anyone else wasn’t injured. People started asking him about the wreck and if he had insurance. Turned out, he didn’t know anything about track insurance and had financed the $70,000 car. Boss said he nearly passed out when he learned his normal insurance probably would not cover the wreck. Also, unfortunately he had posted many things to social media before and after the wreck so there was complete documentation of what happened.

In 48 hours (well, just over) I'll be wrapping up my first track day. Im very stoked.
Car is cleaned out, and most of my 'tool kit' is put together, as well as getting ice and drinks ready (I dont have an ice maker, just making a tray at a time, and have 4 bottles of water frozen which will keep things cool as well as more water on that hot day!). Snacks are ready.

Just did an oil change about 400 miles ago, so that's good.
Pads look good (heck, front pads and rotors are only about 1500 miles or so old, and I did some better-than-stock EBC Green pads)
I think it's all good to go!
Got two totes - one has random stuff in it that was in the car, that'll just stay home, and the other will have tools that Im taking, nothing too much because it's not like Im taking extra parts or anything. But ratchet and socket for lug nuts and a few sockets and extension etc.
Also, I picked up a Ryobi tire inflator that runs off their 18v batteries, just incase I need to add air.
Folding chair packed up.

Im nervous. Im excited.
I'll have video and pictures to post up this weekend

yes! great time! I need to do a decent write up soon, maybe tomorrow

Glad you got to get it in. Now you need to find a good event on VIR Full Course. Autocross has also started back up on a limited basis too.

Theyre running there tomorrow actually... But the track guy told me it was already sold out, so maybe in the future. Again, I'll try to post up soon a nice writeup about my first track day thoughts and experiences

Keep an eye on the VIR calender page. I think Tar Heel Sports Car Club will put one on in September to October. Great group. You need to go ahead and register now if they are on the schedule. They are popular events even without everyone having withdrawals.
