Recently, I've been using ChatGPT for specific searches like finding the best picatinny rail mount for certain sights, ideal distance to zero different calibers, etc.

I find it to be quite useful.

I see that šŸ¦—

Tough crowd.

Iā€™m not computer enough savvy to use that new fangled machine.

I may be wrong, but I believe sites are starting to disallow Chapp GPT, and other AI crawlers from indexing their results but Google is almost guaranteed to pick it up.

if itā€™s on Google, AI pulls it from that database. Itā€™s quicker and lists its references as a hyperlink
I was 100% against it until I started using it at work. AI is an amazing tool, and I think itā€™s be super useful for searching stuff like that.

That being said, I am very apprehensive of the power behind the technologyā€¦ use it wisely.

I believe itā€™s similar to how the internet and calculators were seen in their early days. People are skeptical at first, but over time, theyā€™ll see how useful it can be. Itā€™s the modern way.

I agree as well, you have to evaluate and verify the info it spits out. The software can hallucinate and spit something out thatā€™s irrelevant to what was being asked or topic.

Learning to work with it is definitely a skill, especially when it's being a fu*k boy and not giving you the answers you're looking for.

I am skeptical because I have seen Terminator and I-Robot.

Seeing the advancements in robotics at Boston Dynamics coupled with the advancement/creation of AI makes me hesitant to push technological advancements to far.

Reference the story of Icarus for example. Weā€™re getting pretty close to the sunā€¦

Are you using the Chrome GPT extension to do the searching?

I use it to look over R and python script. Itā€™s incredibly helpful and retarded at the same time. I wouldnā€™t trust it for anything firearms related.

I use chatGPT at work all the time for system verilog, python, or perl questions. Very helpful in that regard.

Haven't really asked it anything about guns.

I'll ask it which one is better, 7.62x39 or 5.56 -- finally we'll settle that debate!

AI is dangerous. Why? Is a firearm not dangerous if not handled by an trained adult?
@ 72 I'm not going back to school, however just look at the pics I copied, & imagine using the technology on Guns for fun.

I would like to use AI for good. Is that possible?

Did you pay for the GPT 4 upgrade?

I don't have the ability to browse with GPT3.5. It also reports is data is only as recent as Jan 2022.
Yes. The analysis and responses it gives compared to 3.5 is night and day. I believe 4.0 is Sep 2023.
