These are what the look like. Both have sniper grey slides

Pink inlay was in a teal/Tiffany blue kydex holster

Black inlay was in a gray kydex holster

Been searching on Armslist.

We have a idea who done it, if it’s him. It will be no time because he screws up and caught.

Do you have another carry gun?

It's questionable I will get my wife's firearm back due to the one of the S/N being ground off. I'm hounding the defective and arresting officer regarding this. The "we got a buy guy off the street" is true and I'm thankful but the gov't seizing our personal property without cause and without payment for the firearm is unjust. I was told I could drop the charges and get my firearm back DA is really after this guy. (It may go federal.) However, it was a small price to pay to have someone like that behind bars. I mention, well it's two options we currently have. I'll drop the charges and get my firearm back or gov't can pay me or (what I want) is the firearm back and the guy put away for a long time..

All this is coming directly from the detective regarding the charges, he's the one that mention "could drop the charges"

If the serial number was removed that gun is illegal to possess by anyone. As far as the seizure of personal property, it sucks but that gun is evidence in a criminal matter. The Government isn't the one who did that to you though, the criminal did.

But the g00bs will find a way to punish you further....

Can't he engrave the SN back on it?

Only with ATF’s approval, assuming it the THE serial number location of record.

OP, what is the gun in question? And, where is the serial number ground off?

Send his ass to the federal pen and then file civil suite for cost of the gun. Maybe they take his canteen money for a couple of years to pay you back. If not a judgement will be waiting on him when he's released.

Having a bit of personal experience in this area, the chances of ever seeing that money are almost zero.

Agree not to bother with the guns, would cost more money to have the s/n verified by lab testing and it could have been used in a crime.
No doubt the criminal will serve months not years after plea dealing.

I think it's funny you think "you" can drop the charges. They are not your charges they are the States charges you were just the victim. The victim has no say in the charges and considering the amount of time it's been they probably did not charge the person with the B&E of an automobile but just the possession of stolen firearms and possibly possession of firearms by a felon so you actually are not even the victim in these crimes.

I think you're "funny" ;) I'm going directly by what the detective told me, don't shoot the messenger. In federal court they could pin that he stole the firearm out of our car(s), I'm certain this is the charge he was referring to. However talking with arresting officer the day after my daughter was born, he does not remember the S/N being ground off and he has one. The ATF local to the area I've been trying to get his contact info to get to the bottom of this.

MP Shield. I've been told both no and yes. Arresting officer is looking in to it.

Yea, I'll never get anything out of this crook off the streets for a while. If it goes to court, and win..doesn't mean I'll get anything in this lifetime. Would end up back in court for non payment/etc. at that point my time alone would of cost that much. All around just sucks.

Talked with the ADA, he assured me he is gone for a long long time. In 10 years he may have been out for total of 14 months. But saying something and doing something are two completely things.

So who ever the defective was was an idiot. Only the ada/da can dismiss charges. Federal law has no jurisdiction over property crimes in state jurisdiction. I didn't mean to come over so harsh and I apologize for that tone. But the officer failed in giving you the proper information.

No worries, I was trying to lighten up the mood/tone. There are few other charges pending against this guy IE: removing ankle braclet, not reporting to prole officer, drug charges, theft charges, etc. I'm not a lawyer, just a over worked engineer. Just want the best out come.

Remember when guns didn't have serial numbers.

My wife was an ADA for several years and I was probation/parole. After sitting in court for 5 years you pick up on things. Unless it's taken federally 10 years is a bit of a pipe dream unless he uses the weapons in a crime. Even habitual charges are going to start at 6-7 years.

Got a call this morning for me to come pick up my pistol. They tired hard to get the Feds to pick up the case but they wouldn't.

Needs a good cleaning and oil/scrotchbrite pad. But now my firearm (wife's really) has a record

Evidence lady and I was joking back and forth. She asked me a few questions, one was "Are you a sex predator" me: "Only when my wife walks by me in my t-shirt and the kids are sleep"
