looking to borrow or purchase one of the measuring devices they use at the cmp to use for a local M1 I’m going to look at.

I’m in Raleigh area. Any local M1 gurus around?

Thanks in advance!

Also make sure to check the lockup of the stock. It should lock up relatively tight. A loose fit may well result in degraded accuracy.

While you are at it, check the last inch or so of the oprod where it sits in the gas cylinder. I've seen numerous oprods heavily pitted due to improper cleaning, usually on imported M1 rifles. It is easy to check the barrel and bolt face for pitting, less easy to check the oprod.
