Anyone have an oxy acetylene torch I could borrow? If you have a shop and a good sized vise I could swing by and do it there. My son ran into a tree with our zero turn and bent one of the front forks. Now when spinning, the tire bumps the deck. I think the best way to fix is to heat up and bend back in place. The shaft is solid and 7/8" thick. Any other ideas?

I do but I'm on the other side of town from you. My shop is off Clanton Rd. If nobody closer steps up PM me and we'll figure out a time to get it fixed.

If you go the torch route take the tire off before you try to heat it. Ask me how I know.

Awesome, I'll let you know.

Have you priced the part? It might be cheap, and would make sure the mower stays level.
It's an older mower and parts apparently are obsolete. I'm fine buying a new one if needed if I can find one. It's a 7/8" shaft and the shaft is 4-7/8" long if anyone has any ideas.

If you were closer you I could do it for you. The equipment that you want to use is a heating tip (rosebud) on either oxy-acytelene or oxy-propane.

I take it there is no bearings on that shaft; rather it just slips up inside a pipe? You should be able to heat it straight. If not cut off the shaft and reweld a new one on.

I might take you up on that. I travel a bunch for work and am in your area often. The bearing is not on the shaft itself. It has two bearings attached to the mount on the mower frame.

Are you saying the tire is off the mower or off the fork? The picture you posted looked like the tire was still mounted on the fork. I meant take it off the fork.
Tire and rim is sitting on my garage floor right now. I took the picture right after puling the complete assembly off the mower. I have everything taken off the fork itself at this point. The only think that could be damaged from the heat is the paint itself which I don't care about.

You’re welcome to stop by. Best to call in advance though. I’ll pm you my phone number.
