What’s your thoughts on it?

I’m in the market for a subcompact for a shorter grip for T-shirt wearing time in the spring / summer. Narrowed it down to the Glock 43 or 26 and the Sig P365. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews and issues about the p365 early on. I love the idea of 10 rounds in a handgun that’s slim as a lower capacity single stack. Just hesitant based on YouTube reviews showing issue with a lot of primer drag and other things.

4-500 flawless rds thru mine, bought in Nov 18. EDC. It does have some striker drag, but I took it down to the striker last week and it looked fine. Xray Sights are exceptional. have shot it both day and night conditions. Did much dry firing to get used to the good striker trigger break and short length of pull. Not as small as my wife's P238, but smaller compared to competitors and with significantly more capacity. :)

You can buy an aftermarket striker that is more durable. Cannot remember who makes it though.

I have one. LOVE It! I run the 12 rd mags in an apendix rig. That’s 24 Ed’s of 9mm. Super accurate. Sights are great. Trigger is nice. Fits me well. Mine has about 700 Rd’s through it. Not one problem so far.

1k rds through mine with a sept born on date. Love it, and so far no issues. I had one fte last week for the first time but it was federal aluminum and i think the case just got overexpanded and was a pita to get out. I can hit 4 inch plates out to 30 yards which is crazy for such a small gun for me. I dont think youll be dissapointed, and I absolutely second the 12rd mag.

My 365 has a born on date of 30 Mar, it has the improved XRay sights but is still a fairly early example. Personally I believe the problems have been blown out of proportion due to the popularity of the gun, but I’m not here to debate that.

I have over 4,000 rounds through mine, and have yet to have a malfunction. The slide has failed to lock back on occasion but am certain that is my thumb hitting the slide release. Otherwise, it’s been perfect for me.

Mine has had primer drag since day one, all these rounds later the spent primers still look the same as the way they did from day one.

I’ve shot a steel challenge match with it, and 2 IDPA matches, one in BUG and one in SSP, and really held my own with it. To me it shoots like a much bigger gun even though I carry it in my pocket every day, all day.

I reload all my ammo, and it is not picky about any bullet shape or weight. One of my favorite Bullets to shoot is a tiny little 100gr semi-wadcutter and the 365 eats them like candy, they choke my CZ’s to death. I wish all my guns fed as well as my 365 and 320x5 do.

My advice is find a store that has one in stock and see if it fits your hands. If it does I think it’s a hard package to beat. If the Glock fits better go with it. At the end of the day, if you need it, you’re gonna be better served by the one that you shoot the best.

I have a P365 because it fits my smallish, stubby-fingered hand best of any compact semi; shooting it is very natural for me. And because 10 rounds. Mine exhibits the primer drag; I don't pound thousands of rounds through it, but it has never had a malfunction. I would say find out which of the guns you're interested in feels the most natural in your hand; it's hard to go wrong with your picks.

What are you using to pocket carry? I have the vedder pocket locker but its a bit big and VERY difficult to draw with any speed for me. I was thinking of a sticky holster but not sure about a striker fired round chambered with a soft holster.

I use a basic Remora for pocket carry. Well broken in, actually recycled from when I used to carry a nano in it.

I owned one of the 365's mentioned up thread. It absolutely puts rounds on target and the grip is actually smaller than the G43. It was too small for my hand, so I sold it, but if it fits your hand, it's a lotta gun in a little package.

I really have grown fond of my G19 Gen 5 with trijicon hd xr’s. I use to not really love glocks, then one day I started taking time shooting them. I found myself carrying it more than the lc9s, but there are those t-shirt days where something smaller is nice, and I’m possibly looking to replace the LC9s with a subcompact that has a shorter reset.

I have 500+ rounds through my P365 and wouldn’t consider anything else now. It is accurate, compact and dependable. I bought the Sig 12 round magazines and will not even consider going back to the Shield or G43 for compact carry. I cannot speak highly enough of the P365.

BUT, you are a Sig fan boy correct? Your quote is like me giving the thumbs up to a new CZ. :D

It has to be weighted against our bias.

I had a p365 for a couple of months. I finally decided the grip felt like a broom handle and I didn't like it at all. It shot well with a decent trigger but I sold it. I now have a Shield 9mm M.2 which suits me just fine. Carries easily and puts lead on target. 'Nuf said.

No, I don’t like many of Sigs newest ventures. I despise the 320 and such. I am an HK fan boy(get it right..lol). I don’t care for the newest MPX, Rattler, or even the new compact legion series. The P365 addresses my issues with the G43 and Shield, capacity. Adding less than 1/4” of grip length over a stock P365, I have 13 rounds at my disposal. It shoots great, and conceals wonderfully. I was not a fan of the P365 until I finally shot one. The one gripe I have with it is the extremely rough stippling of the grip. It can rub you raw if your holster doesn’t have material in between you and the pistol.

I heard so much negative about the P365 for the past year, I bought into some of it. It was sad to learn most that were against it had never owned and never shot one.

I might be carrying an HK today.

I have a P365, a Glock 43 and a S&W performance center 9mm Shield. The Sig is my favorite. I shot a police qualification with it day and night. 99.6 daytime ,100 % night time. I jerked the trigger on one round . That's shooting that short barrel at 25 yards.. I had zero problems in around 250 rounds . Shooting 147 grain Winchester Ranger Talons

My 365 is the bomb, can’t think of any compact or subcompact 9, present or past, that could or would replace it right now.
The Glock 43x will outsell it 2 to 1 in less than a years time is my prediction. The P365 is a fine subcompact and it comes with night sights.....but SIG has quality control problems. As the owner of a post-recalled P320C, I say that with sadness.

Watched a Hickok45 Shooting The Breeze video last night during which he mentioned he’s been carrying his P365 for several weeks. You can love or hate the guy but he’s surely had the chance to shoot more different handguns than most.

A close relative carries the 365. Sig is releasing a version with a manual safety in the next 2 months. I'll switch over at that time. The gun shoots very softly and very accurately. It fits in a pocket with 10+1 and even 12+1. If you're looking for a small gun, I think it's the best thing out there right now.

Kentucky Gun Co is promoting it at the same $499 as everybody else but they throw in a Sticky.

I had a super early one. It was in my hand before Shot Show was over. I did have to send mine in because the front sight was dead upon arrival. While it was there, they upgraded the sights and did some other work to bring it into spec with the 365's they were releasing at the time. I never had an issue with it and honestly, I wish I had never sold it.

As soon as I get my Glock 42 sold, I will probably buy another Sig 365

...and for the record, that's not a knock on the Glock 42, I have just become more of a Sig guy lately and don't need multiple "smaller" models
