Anyone increasing load out since Iran tension?

I was already rethinking my load out anyway. Since I tend to think that any -loo that I get to booga-ing will be at danger close, I will probably add my 9mm PCC to augment my pistol.
I'd be interested in the thoughts of others about the wisdom of this tactic.
My point exactly. Adding the PCC means I don't have to ram home to get to a rifle.

Nope. I can't see a reason to depend on a pcc. fun range toys, absolutely. but aside from magazine/ammo compatibility, why would i want to rely on one? If I have the ability to carry a 16" carbine, I'll take 5.56 or even an SBR/pistol over a pcc because it packs a lot more punch than 9mm. Also, to me, ARs to shoot softer than 9mm carbines, so i can shoot faster better with more energy in the same size gun.
Don't get me wrong, 9mm master race is great. If I had something like an mp5 or something else made to be a pdw in small places, 9mm all the way. but something that lives in the trunk.... i dunno, why not a 5.56?

I carry a pistol and a few mags everywhere.
Iā€™m old, and donā€™t like change.
If something happens up the street, or in the neighborhood I might. But 7-8 time zones away?
Nah.

He was killed over there, but some of them may be over here. You know, open borders and all. . And they're pissed or sympathizers. Did you hear the Border Patrol wouldn't let some Iranian travelers back into the US from Canada the other day? Someone was quoted as saying, "Sucks to be Iranian right now."

I'm not loading out heavy. Rarely do, but can. Some of the load outs here are impressive. But personally, I don't load out too heavy in the truck, because I'm always concerned that I may have to abandon the vehicle and if it's more than I can carry, then I'll have to leave it behind. It could be vehicle failure, road blocks, unresolveable gridlock, inaccessibility due to events prohibiting you getting to your vehicle. And then if you have to hit the road on foot, you're pushing along a literal shopping cart full of guns and ammo for everyone to see. This is in no way criticizing anyone's load out. All of our circumstances are different. Yes, sometimes there's a long gun with me. But, it's in a covert bag.

I try to be as covert as I can, whenever I can. That's why I think something like a G34 (or whatever longslide nomenclature is now) maybe with an RMR and with a stack of happy sticks(33rd mags) makes an excellent, hit the road gun. Decent accuracy, firepower and concealable. But, that's just me.

I agree, I have the capability to roll heavy but there's no point to roll with 4 guns and 1k rounds for each gun (at least for now) dont bring what you cant carry.

While I can't argue that a military town might be considered a target, might I remind people here that it's dangerous to limit our thought processes to such areas.

These people are terrorists. They don't think in terms of "military targets" and the like. They literally think of ways to inspire terror in the general population, with the overall goal of affecting national policy as a result.

While military facilities, and civilian areas around military facilities, are most definitely viable targets, so are grocery stores, daycare facilities, hospitals, zoos, etc.

Not saying to be paranoid...just be open minded on how these people may inflict their brand of suffering on others.

No, I literally mean I donā€™t understand what you wrote bud.

Ah, okay.

That was my typical poor attempt at "insider humor". We found LUMC a whole lot more interested in saving the building fund than in saving souls. So their response to an impending boogaloo would orient toward the fund rather than the congregation. Sorry. Don't feel bad for not understanding. In my 17 years of living in Lewisville, I don't think anyone ever understood me. :D

I wouldn't want to get shot with my 9mm PCC. It takes the same mags and ammo as my EDC pistol. Inside typical "danger close" from my truck in my typical environment [</= 100yds], it's deadlier and more accurate than my pistol. I am not comparing it to my 5.56, any more than I would compare my 5.56 to my 7.62. Different nails, different hammers.

Ahh...gotcha...I figured it had something to do with a United Methodist Church. "Building Fund Apocalypse" is this a real thing?

I have put a bigger jacket, a shoulder holster with a Glock 17, and a couple mag pouches in the trunk ever since Virginia started. I figure trying to carry around a rifle, especially if I have to abandon my car, would just make me an easy target...I don't move like Jason Bourne or Martin Riggs or even like I used to.

I've thought about this too. What things are uniquely American? Things like football and NASCAR. Every New Year's Eve, I expect to see a brilliant flash of light before the screen goes blank.

Amen! I always thought the ideal terrorist target would be to strike at the nerve center of the nation.
Yes, that's right.
Target the Walmarts!
No. Seriously.

I've seen your truck. Where in the world do you hide it?
Thin layer of foam for the bottom. Thicker piece glued to it after the cutouts made. Scrap piece of felt to cover it. Youā€™d never notice it if looking through the truck. It would be tough for me to access while driving, but Iā€™m assuming if Iā€™m driving Iā€™m not needing it at that exact moment.

Might even be able to redo the layout and get 1-2 more mags in the same spot.

Why the mag in the mag-well? Just a hand hold?
Hand hold. Provide a chute for the brass so I donā€™t have it hit my finger if I had to fire it in an awkward position.

Forgot, these are a must. Especially if I'm going to dine on MRE's.

Load out is now 201 rounds. Need to get a new top piece of foam to recut. Seems like last time I put it in the truck I didnā€™t pay enough attention and got the back end folded under. But itā€™s good enough for the short term.

Wife vehicle gets an unsuppressed 11.5ā€ 5.56 AR pistol. I think itā€™s just 111 rounds...might need to up that.

Nice. What's your tag #, just out of curiosity, of course.

;)

Really, though, is that a crew cab with underseat storage, or a full with just storage for the scissorjack/whatnot.

The pistol doesnā€™t stay there... ;)

Itā€™s a quad cab Ram where the rear seats flip up and also has the load flat floor.
