A friend of mine called a little while ago asking if I knew anyone that might want a Kangal. A kangal is a large breed dog that is used for livestock guardians.

His brother, who is older, has the dog and not able to take care of him with his other dogs. He said that it is an intact male about 1 year old, is house trained and very gentle. He will probably reach around 150 lbs.

If anyone has livestock and issues with coyotes or stray dogs, a livestock guard dog might be what you need.

The dog is located in Enochville, NC. If there is any interest, let me know and I'll send you the contact information.

Saddle come with that big boy? Holy cow.

I've never heard of that breed, but he's a good looking animal. I wish I had space for him on my quarter acre, but he needs somewhere to roam and something to protect.

If I had my place fenced...

Good luck to the owners finding a forever home.

That's a great looking dog. Wish I had the space for him but with 2 with issues I don't.

Here is our Kangal. They are gentle giants (unless you are a predator). They have a growl that will literally make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.

That's an ugly dog! And why did you put him in a gray sweatshirt? :D I'm one of the many resident smartazzes around here!

So you DONT have a hat up for grabs....ok

hwl

Dang Scott! Beautiful dog. I wish you would have brought him with you when you so graciously shared your heavy equipment and ammo box of .45 with us at Mark's mill.

Does this breed need to be alone or are they ok with other dogs?

Does it come with any dog food?

All you have to do around here is insinuate that donations would be appreciated and you'll have food for months! At least that's how it seems like the last few adoptions went.
