Anyone shoot tannerite?

Got a target for a buddy of mine its a 1lb target. Has any of you shot this stuff before? Im wondering if its obnoxiously loud and does it make a fireball? My choices are try to shoot it on my own property which I dont think I can get 100 yds space, or wait to find a place with the space if needed.
 
It’s louder than you think. And absolutely rip a hole into a piece of 1/2” plywood it was taped to the back of.
 
It has a deeper thump so it doesn't sound that loud, 3lbs aren't as loud as 1/3 cup of black powder in a cannon.
1lb shouldn't gather that much of a concern, just set it on something like a stick so it won't launch rock shrapnel.

I got some at the gun show, now just need to find someone with a rifle and a nice place to set that sucker off at night!! As a huge fan of Mythbusters, I love good explosions, and hope to see/hear one soon!

More than once we filled 2L soda bottles with NH5NO3 and black aluminum, waited for a thunderstorm (we backed up to Shearon Harris) and blew the beaver dam sky high.
I’m sure there’s plenty of us around that’ll let u smoke some tannerite.
We fired the cannon last weekend, furing a engagement party. many dames squealed :D

I can tell you 3lb makes a BIG boom but won’t take an 18” gun tree out completely.

I did learn during the DIY process that the smaller the white prill, the bigger the boom.

Freedom Trees. I just planted some 9mm, .45 and .223 in the back yard. Can't wait till they sprout.

We used to shoot tannerite all the time when we lived in Idaho. It was very energetic stuff and a lot louder than I expected the first time we tried it! The report is very deep and carries for miles. Just tell your neighbors ahead of time before setting off a 1lb target. Not much of a fireball unless its dark out.
