Oldmanhub was our winner of the most recent challenge 🏆 ! Congratulations! We will get a new target posted soon and start our next challenge. The challenge is open to anyone who wants to try. We enjoy shooting and having a good time. All scores are honor system. If you have never tried, please give it a try and make some new friends. 🙂

I would say any hit touching a hostage is minus points. Bullseye target is for sighters. 9 shots for score.
Went back and found the old thread (May ‘18). The rule at that time was:

Since the primary goal is to hit the bad guy if you hit both a bad guy zone and a good guy zone then the bad guy score (highest value) is counted. This goes along with the "highest value" method - +10 is higher than -7 for example.

We can do that again, or do the opposite (like you say above) and go with hostage shots negates any bad guy shots.

What does every one else think we should do? Let's hear your thoughts. My opinion is you never want to hit a good guy

Here a quick one. I spent a few minutes at the range sighing in my new Meopta6 2.5-15x44 scope on the Volquartsen. This isn't my actual submission, just a quick one to show you what can happen to your score if you have a flyer and it kills a hostage in a different row. The positive hits added to 56, then 21 point are lost to, ahem, errors. Sorry hostages. Total target is 35 points.

Poor fellow top right. I hope to get out soon with the fair weather coming in now.

I gave it a try today. Might have to try it again. Best I got was 48. Tried some SK Pistol match, it's a little slow, had to adjust up a bit. Shot with the CZ 455 and Athlon Helos, bi-pod up front and bag in rear.View attachment 466263View attachment 466264
The target is harder than it looks since the penalties for fliers can cause negative points.

I'm hoping to get one shot for score in the next week or so. Just learned my aunt/God mother passed so I'm going to be traveling to pay respects, just not sure when. I had to spend the whole day today trying to find a suit that fits since I didn't know if I had time for alterations.

Sorry for your loss, sending prayers for comfort during this time.🙏🙏

I made it out and have nothing to show for the effort. Too windy.

Midas+ = 75

Ok, Volquartsen Superlight in Victor Titan22 stock. Supported front with backpack only and shot standing. Wolf match target ammo. Meopta 2.5-15.
Score was 61. Fliers killed it.

I finally got out early today. No wind to start, but had to change settings from 100yd to 50. Got Sako dialed in but not the Martini before wind came up. Sako gave a target score, but hope to get back out with Martini. Shooting Eley Match and final score was 80.

Great shooting! And I thought that 75 would be hard to beat 🤔 !

I really had the new CZ going strong today. I was whacking the know your limits spinner with no problem, even with a good bit of wind. I was happy and packed up for the day. I had shot several groups I was really proud of.

Then I remembered I had these targets in the bag and pulled the rifle back out. I think I smoked more hostages than not. 😭

😀

Shot this last week, but just getting around to posting. I forgot the part about the bullseye for sighters, hence the single shot.

H&R M12
Sightron 36x optic
SK rifle match ammo

Well that was horrible. I should lie and say my EV didn’t charge last night or the range was closed due to mad geese or something but I won’t. Sighted in and shot some different targets and was doing pretty good. Had the best 5 Shot string of the year as you can see in my pic.
Figured it was time to put up a couple that actually counted. That’s where the wheels came off. The wind had picked up as a storm was coming in but I just can’t blame that. I think I just have performance Anxiety when it counts. What I can say is the storm did arrive and stopped me from putting up more targets and hostages to kill.
- Rifle: American Ruger with obviously a bent barrel
- scope: vortex viper that a ran over with my car 4 times and dropped twice.
- ammo: CCI standard that I found under brass in the mud.
I quit!

Well, despite all the hostages lost you still have a pretty blue stock on that rifle and you made me feel better about my target.

I went to the range today to work on some loads for my centerfire and there were a couple guys shooting their 22. I thought it would be fun to join in, so I found a couple of the old duck targets in my truck and we shot them. I did pretty good! Too bad we're not shooting this target for score right now!IMG_20220521_204628.jpg

Looks like Oldemanhub was our our winner again this round with a score of 80! Congratulations Oldemanhub! 🏆 I will get a new post started and you can pick a new target for the next challenge.😃
