Anybody running a can on a 7.5" pistol? Besides the 16" guns the only other one that I have is 7.5".
If you can not run the can on that short of a barrel I guess my options are another upper or built another pistol with a 10" barrel (?).

All depends on the can. Some are rated that low (or even no barrel restrictions) and some are not. Most of my YHM are rated down to 10.5” for 5.56 or 8” for 300BLK.

I have a 7.5” 5.56 but no plans to suppress it. Purely an obnoxious range toy.

I run a Recce 5 on a Sig 516 in the 7.5" flavor.
The only issue I have is heat. I know, supressors get hot, but that 7.5 gets my Revce very hot, very fast. The factory finish burned off the Recce 5 and Ive had to periodically repaint it with high temp paint. 1500 degree paint burns off, 2000 degree paint stays put. I havent met a mirage shield yet that doesn't smoke and smoulder on it.
I have to grip the magwell instead of the rail or wear some gloves while I shoot it. The gas block, barrel, and rail are short enough that it heats everything up a good bit. It makes it a little uncomfortable to hold the rifle by the rail section while shooting without gloves.

However, if I pay even a little attention to my rate and volume of fire, it's manageable. I do have to stop shooting it about 30 mins before Im ready to leave to let it cool enough so it doesnt melt the rifle case. I usually spend some time on the pistol line while waiting for everything to cool down enough to case up.

I really like it, but if I had it to do over, I would probably go with a 10.5"

As always, ymmv

Yep have to agree with draco88 heat can become an issue quick .

I just checked and the can will work on the 7.5" gun. I thought that I read somewhere they recommended the 10" barrel. Once I get the reliability of this gun tested with the can it will be basically a HD gun and if the can gets the blast noise down to a level that will not blow out your ear drums.
When shot on the range without a can, I think the next county can hear it.

I run a Specwar on my 7.5" pistol. No problems.

I never use my SIG 762Ti any more . I'm sending it in to get mod'd for a QD ASR mount. That will probably make its way onto the 7.5 pistol which will probably turn into the 7.5" SBR at some point. .
