Gentleman, trying my best to get my build to run...
3 to 5 rounds in of any type- brass or steel and get a nasty double feed.
On fence about blaming buffer spring or buffer weight... currently 3.
Would a triple wound buffer spring help or adjustable buffer ?
Mags are Cproducts and does it with all 8.
My thoughts are bolt running too fast????
Correct bolt, firing pin, Wolf trigger spring etc...

I have one and it runs ok. My mags are ASC. I have heard others report that 20 round mags work better. To be honest I have only run about 100 rounds through it. No problems so far.

By double feed, so you mean it tries to load two rounds at once?

I'm not sure how a new buffer/spring would help?

Out of spec magwell letting the feed lips spread enough to toss two rounds up at once?

More details on the build may be useful. Including pics of the malfunction.

Mags are all but new and all 8 give same problem...

No pics sadly but picture 2 rounds both pointing into breech area ....projectiles touching and obviously cases splayed away to point external leverage is needed to release jam.
Only reason I'm leaning towards buffer/ spring is thinking bolt moving too fast or out of time somehow....

I'm not even an amateur on such things. But I'm not sure how a weak spring could allow the bolt to feed a round, bounce back to strip/feed another into the same space?

I believe the issue is elsewhere and money spent on springs may be wasted.

Thanks for the replies šŸ»
While that link a videos was informative, I do not have an extraction problem or stovepipes....fired round ejects and clears properly, so not a FTE issue.
It's just double feeding regardless of mag type or round case type .
Bolt face and depth are correct for .30 cal rounds and no issues firing chambered rounds.
While my knowledge in AR -x39 is limited and still learning, that is reason I was leaning towards buffer/ spring combination.
The gas tube adjustment I don't think applies??

I will search out different mag as suggested but was under impression the Cproducts mags were the preferred.....

Keep the ideas coming and again, thanks for replying šŸ»šŸ˜Ž

Hard not to blame the buffer weight and/or spring. I had a similar problem and that is what fixed it for me.
Might need a heavier weight and keep the spring you got.

My current functioning 7.62x39 set up: 10.5", H2 buffer, ASC 20, and duramag 28rd mags, typically 122gr Tula.
originally had intermittent FTE and FTF issues with standard buffer weight and certain mags,, but no live round double feed.
switched to H2 weight and stopped using a paperweight 30rd promag and a finicky 30rd duramag, all malfunctions have stopped to date.

Made a correction to my statement about mags I'm running, 20's are ASC's and 28's are duramag, I do believe the 30rd duramag I was using had isolated issues. In my opinion ASC and Duramags are g2g for x39 mags.
