14.5" Colt Socom Upper on a custom billet lower I threw together. Also my 10.3" MK18 Mod 0 variant which has now been rebuilt on an LMT upper and LMT MARS LS lower.

Very nice! I am trying to decide on two new lowers to stamp and build out... having a hard time finding a middle of the road between price and quality (~125 or so for a stripped lower). I like "plain" with no silly logos or safe/fire markings. Everyone seems to say Aero is the king of budget lowers but the fit on their uppers has some wobble...

ECEE9259-3E5E-4C37-B292-5A73D2FE3FF5.jpeg Here’s my latest, another 450 Bushmaster. I decided to do a lighter build this time to make carrying a little easier.
-BCA 16” 450 barrel with BCA flash hider
-Aero XL upper
-Delta Team 12” carbon fiber tube
-PSA premium carrier with nitride bolt
-PSA lower with Rock River NM trigger
-Lancer A1 length carbon fiber stock with A2 spacer
-Nikon ProStaff scope with Redfield tactical mount

It weighs about 7 1/2 pounds, so I’m expecting a bit of recoil.

I've been really impressed with what I've seen of accuracy reviews for the new Savage MSR line. Had an extra Aero complete lower laying around and decided to pick up just the complete MSR Recon upper and mated bolt. Added some MBUS Pro sights. Haven't got to shoot it yet, but I'm excited to try out some different loads and see what this thing can do.

I believe both the Savage and Barrett rifles have really good reviews for the money. Gun looks damn good that's for sure.
 
start off by saying, yes, this cost a bundle, far more that the Troy and Brownell retros...but it’s the real deal “Colt”, period correct.
A lot of discussion on if Colt actually made it...and looks like US Ordinance may be making the Colt retros...in the final product I received, doesn’t matter.
A1 sights...round post up front, “thumb” forward assist, “auto” selection, aluminum buttstock, chromed BCG and bolt, and the color is a greyish hue to it, rather than black...one pic has it with my M4A1 SOCOM for color comparison.
Barrel is 1:12, so 55gr is all I will feed it. Will go to the range next week.

I just put this together this week. Waiting on the parts was excruciating. Lol.
  • Aero Precision (AP) assembled upper
  • AP lower with mil spec trigger stuff (to be replaced as soon as can get my hands on a CMC)
  • AP 12" R-one m-lok FF rail
  • AP amphibious charging handle
  • AP stainless mid length gas tube (nobody likes stains)
  • B5 stock
  • Spike's Tactical dueling dongs extra grippy grip (looking to replace soon)
  • Ballistic Advantage 1:8 16" Hanson barrel in .223 Wylde
  • Toolcraft nitride bcg
  • Rainer Arms FH
  • Vortex strike eagle 1-8 w/mount
ETA: I leaned pretty hard on my friend @11B CIB for help with this build. I really appreciated the information and education he provided.

I've had this a little while but hadn't gotten around to getting a pic of it.

It has Colt and SP1 stamped on the side of it. I guess that stands for Super Pew or something. Don't know.

Looks great - I think you nailed the value/$ ratio. As nice as many builds that cost 2x. Where did you buy the B5? I’m after one in Coyote.

Unfortunately, the B5 was either on this lower when I traded for it or I bought it in our very own bst and don't remember the cost.
 
I think I need my eyes examined, I'm seeing double today at TSA in Raleigh. Dual triggers too.

The acss reticle in the ta44 is pretty sweet but we’re getting ready to move out to a farm and I’d like to have a little more magnification for 4 legged critters.

Just to add my wife usually runs a t1 but i had to send it back to Aimpoint last week for a little work. Glad I had the free mount still laying around they gave out last year. Depending on how she likes the rmr, I might just pick up a qd mount for it and let her use it instead of the Aimpoint.

One is a DPMS, and they haven’t been produced in years. The other came from Al’s Custom, and I cant find them on the website anymore. I do have an extra though. Shoot me a pm if you’re interested. I had a really hard time finding one for the last build.
