I have a friend that is looking at getting a couple ARs (15 & 10) and not sure which way to go. Was thinking a BCM but not many in stock. DD are a little above what the guy wants to spend. For the AR 15, he was thinking in the 1000 to 1200 range. The AR 10, maybe 1600 range. He is planning on suppressing both guns so an adjustable gas block would be nice from the factory. I know that we can get a PSA and upgrade the trigger and maybe the barrel but would like not to start changing out parts. Also, I looked at the Springfield Saint, but they too are find. I have a couple piston driven CMMG ARs but have not shot their DI guns.

He was also thinking about a 300 BO instead of the AR-10 but not sure if it has enough knock down power to hunt (deer and hogs) out to 200 yards.

Suggestions

Street price with tax is about $900ish out the door. Swap the stock and grip for what he likes and he’s still on the lower end of his range.

He can add Barnes’ adjustable gas system … in the gas tube not the block so it’s a fairly easy swap … to about any DI gun also. Andrew has some interesting ideas …

I’m In The build it your self camp…
This way I can pick the Gucci things I want, and not settle for some vanilla flavored AR some company builds.

My 1.5cents

Fyi,
That gas adjustable system is at least 25 years old. Works very well...
