Arsenal

A stamped Arsenal performs about the same as a good WASR.
Milled rifles are nice, with smooth actions, and I would say generally they are slightly more accurate, but $1400 is a lot to pay for an AK.

$1400 is definitely a lot. You said a good WASR. Is there a lot of variability?

In no way, shape or form is a stamped Arsenal any better than a WASR. Even most Arsenal
Fanboys will tell you that the Arsenal isn’t any more reliable than a WASR. It’s pretty simple, you pay 650 for a WASR you will get your money back. Pay 1200 for a Arsenal and you probably get your money back.

Some of the older WASR's had poorly cut mag wells. But you can thank Century for that. All the newer WASR 10's I've laid hands on were fine. Though there might be a little front sight cant from rifle to rifle. More cosmetic than anything, you can still zero them as long as it's not extreme.
Arsenal puts out canted sights too. I've seen several, and even had one bought brand new where the FSB was cracked.

Thank y'all. I'm new to AKs. Like the idea of a milled rifle and get that it is, from a metallurgical standpoint, a better rifle. It is my understanding that there are theoretical accuracy differences between a milled and forged rifle. However, if I was looking for a semiauto tack driver, I wouldn't be looking at AKs.

Can buy a lot of ammo and pay for a rifle training course for the difference in price.

I paid $1100 for a new SAM7 like this in 2016 so they are going up for sure. There were rumors there would be no more imorted so this increase is to be expected.

I have an Arsenal, and I really like it. Is it better quality...? I would say not really for the average user. Maybe if it got in the 5000 and beyond round range maybe it might last a tad bit longer. Having said that buy cheaper and get more ammo would be my recommendation.
