Article: I carried and we should scrap the Second Amendment

"I think the Second Amendment should be scrapped."

Get in line; a lot of others share your view...

But the right's not going anywhere. Congress could unanimously nullify the Second in the middle of the night, but the next day, the RTKBA will still be there.

Rights cannot be taken from the unwilling...

"All this being said, I see no reason why civilians need to carry handguns whether concealed or not. I certainly do not think civilians should be allowed to own assault rifles.

Sorry Wayne LPierre, it doesn’t take a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun. It takes a cop with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun."

Cops are civilians, a**hole.

There's that piece if logic that doesn't jive...
The liberals think citizens shouldn't have guns at all and they want the police to enforce it. The same police they don't trust AND will the the ones left with guns after they're confiscated. So, basically they want to give all the power to a group that they hate. ????

Former policeman believes only the police need to carry guns.
That the badge is more powerful then the gun. :(

His decision not to carry will not stop me from doing so.

I carried a concealed handgun and I think the Second Amendment should be scrapped.

Fine, here's some other residents of Oregon, Portland

From the linked DailyKrap blog:
The Second Amendment became less and less relevant on December 13, 1636, when the Massachusetts Bay Colony organized three militia regiments into the Massachusetts Army National Guard to defend against the growing threat of the Pequot Indians.
Is this some sort of Librul Logic? o_O

I'll bet the comments are "moderated" to fit their agenda.
I was just gonna day that. The poll results are pro but the comments couldn’t be any more anti, wonder how that happens.

It’s also interesting that everyone in the comments thinks they’re being sensible by saying “I own/owned a gun and now I know that citizens don’t need scary guns. 2A is wrong, needs to be re-written.” To which I say... Nope, sorry, it’s written just fine. Sorry you’re having trouble comprehending it.

I wonder if he would cut his penis off to stop rapes? Or should only porn stars have penises?

That dude can go pleasure himself with a cactus.

Because they haven't figured out yet how to moderate the poll results.

Hint, do it the same way all those polls that said Her Royal Pantsuit was going to win in a landslide, target the demographic that can be relied on to get the results you want.

If they were good old boys, you'd be hearing "Hold my beer and watch this."

Just wait, they'll come out with a poll that says "90% of NRA members want..."

This guy's stand and statements are so full of holes he might as well be a screen door in a flood.

While the whole issue of a cop with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun is one valid way of stopping the bad guy with the gun, that still does not obviate the fact that the police are not body guards for the individual...and the Supreme Court has made that very plain. Which means the individual has no actual protection assurances from the police, period.

Also, the reason behind the Second Amendment has absolutely EVERYTHING to do with this guy's stance on "civilians" not to be allowed to own firearms. News Flash here, skippy: as a representative of the government, YOU are a potential reason why the "citizens" have a restraint order against the government with respect to the right to keep and bear arms.

I'm a veteran...that doesn't mean every word out of my mouth is "gospel" because I magically am endowed with some experience, right, or privilege over other people, including other veterans. I mean, I was a submariner...not a SEAL or Force Recon.

BUT...if you want to play the whole "Imma cop, all y'all mofos shouldn't own guns" card, then I'll happily toss the "I'm a vet who sailed in harms way around the world and swore and oath to protect the Constitution from ALL enemies, including DOMESTIC ones" card.

Pack sand.

You have one idiot former cop from "guns are bad land" and ya'll are treating him like he's the spokesman for all cops.

This isn't the reality.

So...I re-read the entire thread and still cant see where anyone even remotely accused this guy for being a spokesman for all cops. Please share quotes from "yall" (meaning more than one person) to clear this up, out of the 50 posts so far.

I had a professor that was also a Sheriff at the time. He got his PhD at Harvard. He was wicked liberal, and IDK how the heck he got elected in some po dunk county in FL.
