One time I was pumping gas and some POS came out of the store exhibiting a lot of those tells, throwing things (coins?) in my direction too. Thankfully he got in the car at the pump on the other side. He was followed out by a female who,apologized for his behavior. Obviously he was pissed and just being in the right place without being involved could have resulted in a violent encounter,

I stay within arm reach of the pump nozzle, had three guys walk up to me asking for money, 2PM sunny day at a busy gas station, told them
'funny but I was going to ask you guys the same thing'.
They walked away when I put my had back on the nozzle.

Never watch those dumb video monitors at the pumps, big distraction.

I just uncover my EDC when I am at the pump and use my weakside hand to pump gas. Funny I never get approached by anyone

Hit the mute button too. It's usually on the right hand side, second or third one down. Whoever decided to put a TV on the pump at the Stop and Rob station is an idiot.

I've been known to do that too. One day a guy at the pump across from me asked how I liked the gun I was carrying.

My response to questions like that is "I like it enough to practice with it quite a bit" and if it's a real gun guy, they'll ask me more questions. If they're not, they'll shutup at that point

Between my tactical beard and my pos vehicle, people seem to see me as more trouble than I am likely worth.

Pro Tip: hit all of the buttons around the screen until the sound goes mute. One of them is always the mute button--some advertise it, but most don't.

just tried it yesterday and worked like a charm. You never know what kind of life morsel you're gonna find @ CFF
