ATF: 1.5 Million Suppressors In Circulation

I actually thought it was going to be a higher number than that as well. I can only imagine how many applications are sitting there in the piles upon piles of forms we keep hearing about.

Just think if the Hearing Protection Act or Sportsman Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act had passed ...

To bad the Republicans didn’t have the crap together to have brought it and a few other 2A friendly other bills to the House and Senate floor when the tides were way more favorable.

Yes it is, exactly, how percentages work.

There are 1.5 million suppressors in the US.
I own 5.
Therefore I own 0.00000333% of all the suppressors.

@Spartan01

You have .00000333, or .000333% of the total. You can't just divide and add the percentage symbol. You have to multiple by 100 to make it a percentage.

...and I knew you had 5, because I did the math I assumed you were doing. :D

ETA: beat me to it.

I am also surprised by the low number “in circulation” whatever that means.

...and it means I only have .0019333%

If y'all think that's high, you need to branch out and meet some new people. o_O:confused:

Ummmm.
Sigh...
Let’s see...
Add the four, carry the two....
Head hurts...
Brain overloading...
Bzzzzt...
Crash...
Pfffft...

I’m too dumb to know if you are correct or not.

Plus all the manufacturer samples and suppressors in dealer stock not sold yet.

Look at the chart.

What are all the destructive devices?

How are the number of machine guns going up? Do those purchased by law enforcement go on the list?

I believe the LE stuff counts. That's where a majority of the DD volume comes from...especially in some instances where each projectile counts as a DD.

As to the math question, look at it this way.
If you have all 1.5m suppressors, and divide by 1.5 million, do you have 1% or 100%?

Is that privately owned or does that count those registered by LEO agencies?

There's probably 2.5 million sitting in backlog at ATF in PENDING state.

Or maybe they didnt want to 'have their crap together' so we'd keep voting for them.

Dont they control the House, Senate, and Executive office? What more do they need to get some stuff done?

I have 3 suppressors, can someone do the math for me?

.0004666 according to Stanly county math.
If that was for Butter, and his 3 cans, Stanly Co has failed you. :p

I have no idea what you attempted, but that would be the answer for 7...so maybe that's how many you have?
