I feel like I'm missing something very obvious, but on the Form 23, some of the fields make note to 'see definition #'. I don't see the definitions in the instructions on the form or BigWaylon's excellent guide, and googling hasn't been successful for me.

For example, question 4a. I know that the answer could be short-barreled rifle, short-barreled shotgun, AOW, silencer, etc., but where exactly are the definitions defined? Feel free to mock me for not being able to find them. šŸ˜

How was your reading comprehension in school? šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Read the entire formā€¦and youā€™ll find some really interesting stuff. Like a section titled DEFINITIONS.

Doh! I did say that I felt I was missing the obvious, and the title of page 3 just smacked me in the head. My reading comprehension used to be great but I've found my ability to retain useless information is getting worse. šŸ˜†

I read the form from front to back to front and looked at that section multiple times but was focused on finding specific terms like 'short-barreled rifle'. The definition of a SBR is there but the term is not. After some more googling, it seems the definitions (including terms) are from 18 U.S. Code Ā§ 921 (a).

(8) The term ā€œshort-barreled rifleā€ means a rifle having one or more barrels less than sixteen inches in length and any weapon made from a rifle (whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise) if such weapon, as modified, has an overall length of less than twenty-six inches.
