I was in Athens Greece this week as part of a three country trip (Venice Italy, Kotor Montenegro, and Athens) and persuaded the wife to allocate two hours to the Military Museum in Athens.

The museum consists of outdoor displays of some aircraft and various artillery and three floors inside of Greek military items from antiquity to today. I could easily have spent 4 hours but 2 was all I had.

Much of the larger stuff is sitting where inquisitive fingers may touch it although there are soldiers patrolling the exhibits to make sure that no one molests any of it.

There are small arms of every type and some are well represented such as Thompson Submachine guns and German WW2 weapons.

I highly recommend the time if you are ever in Athens. Well worth the 8 euros to get in.
