ATI Galils

Interesting. Is this the same ATI of very questionable quality AK (in)fame? And I don't see a bipod ... so the bottle opener presumably doesn't come standard.

Also, pretty sad that they shocked the industry with this announcement but only had Tapco mags to showcase :confused:
 
Yeah ATI made some junk AKs and ruined some Russian parts kits on some of them.

If I am correct, these Galil receivers were made by CNCwarrior and the rest of the parts are Israeli surplus aside from 922r stuff. If they use a decent barrel and build them right, it doesn’t leave much to go wrong.

The bottle opener is the bipod retainer at the rear of the handguard. I see the bipod lug, but the bipods cost extra, and I guess ATI didn’t spring for them. I guess the consumer can add the bipod later. But the bottle opener is there.

I’m thinking the Tapco mags are for 922r. The surplus Galil mags are cheap and readily available.

I picked one of these up last week. Fit and finish is great. The tapco mag works fine, had issues with surplus mags failing to feed. You can fix it a few ways..opted for the diy gunsmith route..aka dremel action. Works great with surplus mags now. There are a couple threads on akfiles about these Id suggest anyone interested in these read. Despite having to fix the mag feeding issue (10-20min work) its still a good value imo.

I originally had ordered a JRA Gallant, but that got fubared via classicfirearms..kinda glad to be honest, seems those receuvers have issues with mis aligned holes and what not (surprising since Bula makes them, and is highly regarded in the m14 community)..

Ill get some pics up once my bipod arrives.
 
Is it any lighter than a Century Golani? :rolleyes:
