Several different types of ammo, same result. I plan on contacting ati tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone out there has one of these and if so have you had any issues?

I don’t have an ATI Omni, but I’ll pass along what info I do have in case you haven’t seen this thread: https://www.carolinafirearmsforum.com/index.php?threads/ar-15-shotgun-upper.57841/

I have recently finished a build with an IFC 410 upper. I’ve found the ATI mags to work MUCH better than the IFC mag that was included. I’ve successfully used all of these ammo types:

As well as Monarch from Academy that was bought after I took that pic. The Monarch was the least expensive of the selection and was one of the 4-5 that were recommended by the manufacturer.

Have you gotten any brand to work?

The cheap federal seems to work the best. And it’s the shortest overall length with the longest brass. If the first round seats properly the gun will run without issue. But 7-10 times the first round jams.

Gas system issues?
I had a benelli M2 that gave me fits because the gas wasn’t right, and the weapon jammed all the time

Ammo length is definitely a concern, but I thought it was mainly with what fits in the magazine.

I do think the blue box of Federal I have in the pic was the same price as the Monarch. Everything else was a little (or a lot) higher.

Does ATI recommend any ammo? This is what my IFC came with:

I was going with the plan of finding one or two that worked, and then buying a bunch of it. But so far, everything I tried worked...at least for the one mag of each I tried.

I will say I had a defective ATI magazine. Do you have more than one you’re using? Mine was binding up and the follower wouldn’t push the 2nd found up enough to chamber.

The ati web site isn’t that specific, just that it only shoots 2-1/2 in shells. I’ve mic’d all the shells the wins are the longest at about 2.3in. The rems are 2.2ish. And the feds a little shorter than that. So clearance shouldn’t be an issue. I don’t think it’s to do with the gas operation as it usually only happens trying to chamber the first round.

I had one of these and it didn’t run right out of the box.

Check the magazine when running to make sure it is not inserting too deep, that caused some of my ftf issues.

Make sure when loading the magazine the shell rims are loaded one in front of the next.

Had to replace the hammer spring due to regular light primer strikes.

Finally, really greased up the bcg.

After all that it ran reliably.

Also, got a great deal on ATI brand slugs and was the only ammo I ever ran through it.

I may have fixed it. I used a 1/2 in metal counter sink bit to take the sharp edge of the chamber mouth. Now it hand cycles the shorter federal and critical defense without failure. It would not before. It still jams occasionally with the rem and win. But they are a little bit longer. I’m going to live fire it and she how it runs. BCE7388C-2B64-4656-BECC-82F0A0D39AEE.jpeg
