Is there any reason that I can't see for not using a Lee Auto Disk on another press? While it's been quite a while since I've used mine, IIRC it only drops powder when a case is pushed up into the powder drop die. This would seem to make this usable on any press (especially those who need powder grains liberally distributed around it)

The auto disk can be used on other presses. The paper that came with mine briefly explained how to hook it up to other presses. I can see if I can find it and take some pics if you need me to. The powder is dropped through the die as the case comes up. You are correct about that.

That's what I was thinking. No extra linkages needed, as I think it's the pressure of the case as it enters the charging die that dispenses the powder. When I was using it, I had no problem with getting consistent drops, though it was a little messy.

I think I'll give this a try, and see what other case - actuated drops are available that have easier adjustment than the auto disks do.

I bought the old Projector RCBS press that was advertised here and while I like the dropper that came with it, it uses a complex linkage with no shut off that people seemed to hate. I may use that stand alone for other purposes as it came with both of the micrometer sections.

Works great.
I used mine on the LnL for a long while before setting up the Hornady powder measure, my loads were already set-up with it so I figured why change.
I fixed most of the mess with mine and improved consistency by sanding the bottom of the hopper with some fine grit (400?) taped to a piece of glass to make it true which improved the sealing.

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense... it's just a stack of plastic and potmetal.

Ive got 2 auto drums on Dillon 550 tool heads. Work great, cheaper than dillons, and no bell crank linkage to mess with. Riser accessory is necessary.

Yep, got the riser. Let me go look at the auto drum. I'm GTG it looks like.

Never messed with the Auto-Disk, but I do have a couple of Auto-Drum measures and have been happy with them. I have thought about getting some to outfit a couple of toolheads for my Dillon.
