@Lager Your old Roo made quick work on my girls. Had two hens sitting by May 26th, first two chicks peeped this morning. Should have a few each of BSL, RSL and Easter Egger Wyandotte mix.

Was able to rehome my silkie roo and a couple of bantam mutts to make some room for some new birds that I really don't need.. :D

We had a new hen hatch three this year. A welcome sight after something got all 26 chicks we had purchased in one night.

Came home late Friday night and checked on our chick progress. 4 hatched and doing great but momma was off the rest of the eggs and they were stone cold. Decided to stuff them under my other hen that is also sitting on a pile of eggs.

Found one egg that had pipped and dried up shrink wrapping the chick and decided to pull some of the egg apart just to see what it would have looked like if it had survived the hatched and I swear I saw the little shit flinch just a little bit. Run inside the house, a little warm water to loosen the egg sack up and the little shit start wiggling and letting out the faintest of peeps.. I stayed up with it most of the night with it in my hand under a heat lamp as it came around and gained more and more strength. Went out in the morning and gave it back to momma, all seemed well.

Yesterday afternoon I find its toes all curled up and it is trying to hop around on its elbows, happy as can be but pretty messed up.. I cut a couple of pieces of thin cardboard and taped them to the bottom of the chicks feet with band-aids to make the feet spread out like they should then put it back in the house under the heatlamp. Check on it this morning to find it hopping around with its cardboard shoes, up on its ankles like it's supposed to. Take the shoes off and the little shits feet are looking perfectly normal.. Success!

I'll get some pics in the morning of my patient. Thought I took some after shots but I guess I didnt.
