I'm looking to get a battery powered heated jacket or vest for my 75 yo father in Michigan. I just got off the phone with him and he's talking about giving up shooting - his real passion - because his back and shoulders aren't dealing well with the cold. He shoots prone, with big heavy muzzleloaders, so there's lots of getting up and down into position.

Who has first hand experience? Shoulder and back warmth is the primary focus.
Jacket or vest?

Brands with good reputations?

I have some business experience, but no product experience, with a major manufacturer of these things that's based in NC but really don't know where to start.

I have a Bosch battery powered jacket that will sweat you out on medium. Never used it above the low setting.

Father inlaw got a dewalt for christmas but haven't heard how he likes it yet. I will try to ask and report back.

A guy at work has the millwaukie M12. He says it is too hot to use it here, but it is tge best rain jacket he has ever owned.

Another thing is they use USB for power so the small 12v car jump starter packs will run one for days on low.

I have the milwaulkee m12 too. Low heat is plenty. Feels great.
