Battery Oaks Range January 26, 2019

Looks like Toprudder can't make it. I will be there still.
I am an old cowboy at heart and I shoot Sharps, Spencers, Levers and 45 colt wheel guns. I do have some modern stuff but I like the other better.
Wanted to find out about this place too:

I wanted to make it...but my wife decided it would be a great day to clean out the church and get everything reset for a new year...so...yeah...

Bring the wife and come on. @BatteryOaksBilly will find something for y'all to clean out. You'll be hard pressed to find a better crowd to hang out with.
 
So.....I am trying to rush and get some reloading done before Saturday. I want some of y'all to try out a few things. Maybe.
Do you all like Shiny or Brown guns? Because that's mostly what I have here lately....but not shiny AND brown.

I'll be coming down Friday & get a room for the night. That will make Saturday easier for me to be vertical most of the day. I'll have to leave late that evening
Cause I have to be at a memorial Sunday fir The Olde Dragons Dad. Any recommendations on close hotels? @Millie would you like me to bring my 686 for you to shoot? I also have some 1911 Officers models you might want to shoot also.

I’ve been changing optics on some 22 rifles & a pistol. I’m getting away from open sights. Since I can no longer see & shake like a dog shitting peach seeds so might need some steadier person to give me a hand. I have them boresighted & was wondering if I’d be able to fine tune them on paper? A Ruger mark I pistol & 3-4 rifles.

If you have em boresighted I will help you Curt. I got a few I need to shoot to POA myself before I start hanging out with the cool kids. Don't feel bad man, my eyesight has went to shit in the last 2 or 3 years. Fiber optic fronts still work for me on handguns.
I also have astygmatism so the red dots are starting to suck as well.

I'll bring a box or two of some factory ammo for that, and just shoot reloads in my guns.

I’ll bring it & some others I haven’t shot. Come to think of it I haven’t shot the 686 either. I have a Colt Officers 1911 I’ve had for a few years that I haven’t shot too. I don’t think I can get all the guns I haven’t shot in my car! That might be an exaggeration but there are several.

You bring whatever you want, and if I get a chance to shoot them that would be great. I love anything 1911...lol....also loved the 686 B.P. let me try out.

They had a Big match this past Saturday. I was supposed to meet my Ole Pard Billy Rivers and show off some guns and holsters. Alas, the day ran out of minutes. It's a nice place.

I am selling all this and more to come for a dear Old Pard. He is leaving us a little more every day. He is 76 and his family is trying to tie up loose ends. There are No expensive items on this list. So, if interested, bring a little jingle and take yourself something home to remember the weekend by.
As always, Battery Oaks makes not a penny off anything sold. We are really looking forward to seeing all. There will be a giant chicken bog [no Jeppo we won't be cooking giant chickens], Randall's favorite ham bog, big pot-o-beans, lightning bread, and drinks.

I had the group not the place where they shoot. I think it is called HCWP. They shoot sass cowboy action once a month. I need a place to practice at. I want to shoot the match, but I would least like to practice a little so I dont embarrass myself. Would like to fine someone to tell me about the place.....or mybe ride up there afterwards. I will be there Sat wearing my cowboy action rags, guns, leather. Come up to me and talk. Or anyone else that is a Sass member.

My Ole Pard Billy Rivers was showing off his new rig he just got. 2 Colts tuned by Bob Munden, Milt Sparks leather, and badge NUMBER 3. Yep number THREE. I found the outfit for a friend of ours and Billy ended up with it. Badge number Three belonged to one of the Five organizers of SASS. If my memory is right his SASS name was Poteet. That rig always draws a crowd, I was glad to get it for him.

I don't drink but I do like to see other folks drink fine liquor.
