I'm down at the coast for a long weekend, in the hotel around half the people are wearing masks, maybe a little but there are a whole lot who are not. No one has said anything though there have been a couple of glares and stares.

Went to Food Lion yesterday pick up some beer, the staff was in masks, but probably less than half the shoppers had masks on. Definitely a change of the wind.

Im supposed to be headed to NMB area in the summer for a short family trip and curious to see how it’s treated down that way. I won’t wear a mask, same as since day one.

My wife just came back from NMB after spending the weekend down there. According to her, the only people wearing masks are restaurant workers.

The alphabet store I usually frequent is no mask, no come in but they have a window in the vestibule you can go to and they will bring your stuff up.

Went to the other one nearby the other day and masked up, walked in and even the clerk was unmasked. I said ,"so you're nothing the mask thing" and pulled mine off with a smile.

SC as a state never mandated masks … they left it to local government. MB did have one but it was withdrawn last month and now the only places masks are required are government buildings and businesses who post it … kinda like No Concealed Carry for guns except there you Must Conceal You Face for C-19. Basically the answer is unless the business is posted and says you must wear a mask you are free to breath fresh sea air.

Most of the businesses my wife visited had the signs up that said you had to wear a mask but nobody was wearing them and the employees didn’t seem to care (at least no one was asked to leave for not wearing them while she was there).

If a business posts No Mask No Service it’s their job to enforce it not the local LEO’s … I suspect it’s a “trespassing” type thing so the business doesn’t really even bother plus it costs them money in lost revenue and after a year plus of C-19 cash flow losses they’d be smart to not push the point and even smarter take down the damn mask required sign and let people make their own choice.

Spent all last week in NMB, the only place that enforced wearing masks was Costco. Did not have an issue anywhere else.

We went to Myrtle the Saturday after thanksgiving and had no mask issues. I have more or less ate drive thru for the last year and change and it was nice to sit down with the wife.

I get that. I just posted it in response to your comment about posted businesses being the only places you have to wear a mask

In my coastal town they never got into the whole mask thing. Put signs up and have the employees wear them but that's as far as ig goes. The few left leaning folks wear them and tried to cause uproar but even they don't say a word now.

Want to know how we can tell you're not from here, wear a mask, haha.

Watch out for swarming 'ronas' at sunset....oh, that's mosquitoes, sorry. But there could be ronas hiding in that swarm. Mask will
prevent them from gettin to yah.

Unless things change...NMB is wide open and No Masks required.

There are some stores in the Tanger Outlet that require them. SAS is one.

I made the decision at the start of all this BS that I would not wear a mask. If I was asked by an employee of an establishment to put one on o would factor if I really needed to be wherever I was. If yes I would. If no I would just say no thanks and walk out.

Meh. I played a bar gig the other night and not one of the 200+ people there were wearing one. I stepped over to another bar 100 yards away to say hey to another musician buddy and same thing. Well over 200 people and not a mask in sight.

We’ve played 4 bar gigs in NC/SC over the last 45 days, and less than 10% total were masked....and that’s overestimated

We have 800+ in service on Sunday mornings…and I’d bet there’s three dozen or less wearing masks once they’re seated. A simple majority, or more, wear them coming in and going out…but not once they’re inside.

Yesterday saw the new Monday check-ins. A lot more glares and stares, but still no one said anything. Morehead City was the same with employees wearing masks; half or fewer patrons in masks, regardless of signage.

You rebel you!

As mentioned above the smaller towns especially along the coast seem to be more “WGAF” to Stooper’s BS what’s going to be interesting is when you head back home and have to deal with Dookies and Durhamites … Commie Hill forget about it they scream at you for pumping gas without a mask … I hate having to take my Mom to her doctor there.
