I really can not find any FMJ bullets to load for the 6,5 just to get the bullet in the ballpark. I have loaded some higher priced Hornady ELD and Nosler RMD bullets. Also, have some Nosler ballistic tip to load. These are my first loads and using Varget and some Win 748. If I go through my powders I might be able to find a couple more. My go-to powder in a lot of my calibers has been shooters world powders but do not have any of the 6.5 rounds. Would love to find some RL-15.
I have not bought any factory powder in 4 years but would consider a box or two just to get the gun zeroed in.

Just wished I could find some 150 grn FMJ bullets for the 6.5. At the last gun show, there was a BOX OF 50 FMJ for 50 TO 55 dollars. I should have bought a box of 2.

I bought a box of Hornady American Gunner, 140s, to get on paper. The box of loaded ammo was $50, a bag of 50 empty brass was $36. cheap way to get the job done and come out of it with once loaded fire formed brass.

Bonus...the Am Gunner round was very accurate.

If the ballpark you're looking for is accurate 6.5 creedmoor rounds, it is a 140 ELD-M with somewhere between 41-42.5 grn H4350, and a 210M primer.

Every time that I have tried to re-invent the wheel to something better or cheaper, it always costs more money than going with the known value.

Tim, that is what I saw at the last gun show but I did not have the guns at that time. Nukeman, I agree about inventing the wheel. I just wanted to get on paper with the factory loads then make sure that my reloads shoot as good or better than the cheap factory loads.
I now have a list of preferred powders for the 6.5 and when I see them they will be going home with me but have to use the Varget and 748 until I find the others.

I went out and shot some Sierra 142 HPBT's with H4350 and they did quite well. I had purchased a Magnetospeed a few months back and this was the first time I tried it out. It's a great unit except that the strap thingy that you use to cinch it up to the barrel is a total POS. But I digress. Before testing the Sierra's I used some 140 Hornady ELD factory ammo and they did ok. A bit over an inch at a hundred, based on the group size at 200.

I switched to the Sierra's since I got tired of the Berger's I wanted never being available. So I had to let old Berger go. Great bullets but worthless if you can't find them when you need them. They are really proud of them too. I bought 500 Sierra's at roughly half the price of Berger's and so far they are doing quite well. They seem to not be to finicky to load and if you can get some H4350 I think you will be very happy with them. The whole idea behind the Creedmoor's are the high BC's of the available bullets. Buy cheap or high drag bullets and you may as well shoot a .308. I don't understand the concept of buying cheap bullets to get into the "ballpark" and then buying better bullets???? Who wants "ballpark" groups? Seems like a waste of powder and money to me? o_O
