Ok gents, I have my new 3 gun shotgun in hand and an extended mag tube on the way.

Next up I'd like to get a few different chokes. I know they need to be Optima HD pattern and I'd want extended chokes so I can manipulate them without a wrench.

What is the typical load out for a 3 gunner on these? Cylinder, Mod, and Full? I don't want to go overboard with the quantity, just a basic KISS set for now.

What brand is favored?

1301s ship with an IC which will work for 99% of the shotgun targetry you are going to encounter in 3gun.

I have found that IC and Light Mod cover pretty much all the bases. Rarely have i ever seen anyone choke up past MOD.

A tigther choke may be better depending on barrel length. My 24in prefers the IC while the 21in prefers the LM.

The 1301 is notoriously accurate with slugs. Both IC and LM do very well with the low recoil fiocci slugs. I have found the gun to be much less accurate with open chokes and slugs.

Briley, Pure Gold or Carlson's for manufaturers. I use Carlson's. The extended chokes will give you a little more parallel surface and typically will pattern better.

I see you noted in the other thread you have a 21in. Id put an extended Light Mod in that thing and never look back.

imo, shell selection is far more important than choke.

My bag has IC, MOD, FULL and CYL. I rarely ever use anything other than IC.

Pure Gold laid a certificate for a couple free chokes in our prize table last time.
