I've seen quite a few Beretta A400 Excel shotguns at clay shoots lately and most owners complain about LOP (length of pull) being too short. When looking on the many forum posts on the subject, there is quite a bit of misinformation and some pretty draconian suggestions to change the LOP.

Usually the A400 Excel Sporting stock, with kick off (KO), comes with a little over 14" LOP. Without KO it is about 14 3/8'. The LOP solution is a new pre-fitted skeet/sporting pad from Beretta. No fuss no muss.

These pads come .in 4 lengths.... .51", .71", .91" and 1.1". There is approximately 3/16" difference between pads. There are other pre-fit pads for Beretta from companies like Kick-eez but I would stay with the Beretta. This is why Beretta chose not to have an adjustment for LOP with the KO system.

The A400 also comes with drop/cast shims as did the 390/391. By the way there is a huge difference between the drop for the parallel comb version and drop for the sporting version. The parallel comb version is too high for most sporting shooters even with adjustment, so try one before buying.
