I’ve been looking at them too. Lots of gun for the $. TwangNBang has a good review of it on YouTube.

Cameron has sold me a lot stuff....
But this seems like a great deal for the money.

R700 receiver with a Sako Bolt, and a button rifled Barrel, in a aluminum bedded chassis that takes Magpul AICS Mags.

I've got the HMR in .308. I really wanted a 6.5 but saw the .308 early when they came out so I jumped on it. Since, I've only seen the 6.5 in stores!

It's a nice setup for the $. Haven't had much time to play with it though so I don't have any real accuracy info. Just put a few down the pipe one day before I even had a scope just to make sure it went bang. Trigger is pretty good for stock. I've got a Vortex mounted and bipod on but haven't had the time to zero or play. I went with a 1 piece mount instead of rings and not sure I like that yet.

I saw the B-14 BMP in 6.5 in the wild on Thursday for under $1200. Not sure if that is a good deal but the MSRP is 1699. It felt like a good setup as well.

I have the original Bergara B-14 BMP with the barrel nut. It is a great rifle and shoots sub-MOA so far with everything I have tried in it. Bergara guarantees a certain level of accuracy in their rifles, for whatever that is worth to you. As for quality, it is pretty good, IMHO. I did swap out the stock adjustable Timney trigger for a Calvin Elite 2 Stage, because the pull weight on the stock trigger was a bit too heavy and felt inconsistent. I have not heard of any negatives on the HMR.

Very nice! If you don't mind answering, what was the approximate price of the rifle. Trying to figure out if the one I saw locally was a deal or not.

What break is that? Area419?

Thanks.

Been looking at getting a 308 Bolt Action.

This seems to be the way to go. Anyone with a HMR?
I've been looking at them too, as well as about every other bolt action, and there is a lot of value in this rifle.

What makes you want to drop the 6.5CM from your RPR to .308? Just curious, really

I have 1400 rounds of 308 ready to shoot.

The longest range I typically shoot at is 350 yards.

So, considering a 22lr has similar flight path to the 308, training with 22 is a lot closer to a reality.

So time behind the trigger with my 22 would apply more for the 308 round if and when I would be able to make it up to Woodys or somewhere to stretch out what I own. Realistically, that RPR is a 1200+ yard gun.

I got mine on a smoking online deal and was just over 1K new in the box + a $25 local FFL transfer fee. But, as you can see, I also put an Ergo grip, a brake (Little Bastard) and swapped out the trigger. I think the >$1200 price is good considering the RPR's are selling at near that same price point ($1299, I think).

I am hording money for one. I have a Bergara B14 Hunter in 308 that is a tack driver. Word is Bergara will be offering a few more caliber selections next year. I would love one in .300 Win Mag for a beanfield/long range hunting rifle.

300 win mag is coming to the HMR platform along with 223, 6mm creed, as well as a few others I believe.
