Looking for a lightweight 1-3, 1-4 or 1-6 scope for a 300 blackout pistol build (10.5"). trying to decide between red dot/magnifier and an lpvo. I have a 1-6 midas BTR from athlon on another rifle and love it but it's over 500 bucks. Looking to stay in the 300-400 range if i can. illumination is good but not required. Priority is best glass i can get and durable. Not overly picky on the reticle for this one either.

even might try to find an old weaver V3 1-3 with duplex.

thoughts?

I've got a Bushnell 1-4 LPVO that seems to fit that bill, nice clear glass etc. No idea how it works as a scope since I haven't shot the upper it's on yet. Definitely the right price and format though.

I was going to suggest bushnell as well.

If I were to buy a budget lpvo today, it would probably be a Primary Arms with the Nova reticle. I would think it about perfect for a 10" 300blk, if you were to be set on an lpvo.

Also hard to go wrong with a decent dot/magnifier set up too though.

Is under $500 buying used?
No, that is the new price right now through EuroOptic, and is the cheapest it has been in several years since they did their initial markup. https://www.eurooptic.com/Steiner-P4Xi-V2-1x-4x24mm-G1-Riflescope-5204.aspx

Glass is excellent, and EuroOptic is an authorized seller, so no issues with warranty work, etc. My only complaint is that the green illumination isn't screaming bright in bright daylight, and the turrets are a bit mushy, but if you're set it and forget it like me, they more than suffice. I have one on my SBR in a Reptilia mount.

$469 new in box at eurooptic
@gr8fuldoug has it for $499 new in box at cameralandny.com. He's a site vendor/sponsor. Call him and talk to him, he *may* price match or even beat that price. He's done that for me and a few other forum members in the past for similar products.
