You are 100% correct. Thank you for fixing my brain fart!71 and 72 were the 455HO and the 73 and 74 were super duty.
I am a diehard mopar guy but appreciate all the muscle cars. Love the 71-74 Trans am . Hard to beat in looks and don't need much for top level performance either.
Interesting choice of wheels!I might be a little prejudiced but…..View attachment 685829 View attachment 685830View attachment 6858299View attachment 685830
I believe those were stock (but perhaps polished) for C-3’s just a few years younger.Interesting choice of wheels!
If you see it on the track you’ll change your mindI’ll allow the Alfas.
But this thing looks like a jukebox.
They are aftermarket reproduction wheels that are chrome, no polishing. I am working on another set of wheels. Knockoffs like the c2 Corvettes but eight inches wide. Western wheels made them in the late 70’s or early 80’s. Only 500 sets made. I think they will look really unique and nice.Interesting choice of wheels!
Yes they are patterned after the aluminum wheels that were first available in 1973, but had problems. They didn’t become widely available until 1976.I believe those were stock (but perhaps polished) for C-3’s just a few years younger.
Former 73 Firebird owner here, converted to a working Formula Ram Air hood with a built 65 GTO 389 motor in it. Agree with you on the best looking, but I like the inverse white with blue stripe on a 1970 model. Although I think I have a metal model of one just like you had pictured somewhere in the basement I need to pull out and sell.My father has a '79 that was my first car, that I will one day resto-mod to its former glory. My issue with identifying the best looking Firebird is that I'm torn between the '68 model year and the 72 Super Duties. If I'm taking a Super Duty, I gravitate towards the blue with the white stripe.
