Looking to buy a ACR and only a few places even have them. Brownells has one but I'm wondering if brownells routinely runs any big discounts or something so I could get the gun a little cheaper? I'm currently in contact with Gunprodeals.com... anyone ever dealt with them? Prices are great but communication is terrible. Any other sites I should check out that you guys have had luck with?

I use gunengine as a meta search. Gives many different options.

Brownells occasionally runs 10% off or $10 off $100, $20 off $200 and $30 off $300 with free shipping. They do add a $10 FFL fee, at least to handguns. No CC fees.

It really varies based on what you are looking for. Certain brands flow through certain sellers at lower price. I personally like to run searches on things like https://gun.deals/?view=list They will give you starting point. Also check gun broker. Sometimes a smaller dealer will be selling what you are looking for there cheaper than some of the bigger sellers. There is no one single answer.

grabagun, buds, cdnn, classic......the list goes on forever.

The key is to find a good local FFL that doesn't charge rediculous fees and is on file with most of them ;)

This. But...

Give yer LGS a shot. They will sometimes match online pricing just for the couple extra $ they might make on the deal, vs. just a transfer fee. I know many won't, but some will. Maybe I just got lucky. I've been a long time customer & he's totally cool (& reasonable- $20) just to do a transfer, but for any current production gun available, he'll match the typical online price. Factoring shipping & transfer fees, vs. paying state sales tax, we're looking at +/- $20 on the deal. I like to support the local guy, whenever possible.

I'm totally with you. I called around and no one had one. I called my beloved guy Jim at Jims gun shop in garner and he didn't even think he could get one. It's really weird a lot of websites don't even have them in stock. I sent an email to backwoods bang shop so hopefully I have some luck with him.

My LGS are 15mi drive further away, charge near MSRP, and have less inventory than my local tabletop FFL. They cant touch his pricing due to low overhead, dont do layaway or fair trades and dont take paypal down payments.

Like I said, some will, some won't. I support the ones that do & for the one's who don't, I know a great tabletop FFL. If I bring ammo, we'll go shoot the new toy in her backyard.

I stumbled into a local shop and he happened to have precisely one of what I was going to order that day online. We got to chatting and he met the best price I'd found.

I try to do business local if I can. I have bought from Jerek before and had a great experience. I use gun.deals (this used to be slickguns) to check pricing but have bought from Kentucky Gun Company and Osage County Guns before and had good luck with both. Not very good luck with Botach. Also, in Winston Salem Atlas Firearms does transfers for $20 or $25, (I can't remember for sure) but they only charged me one fee to do multiple transfers at the same time.

I dropped by my LGS yesterday to look carefully at a gun I had seen a few days before but it had been sold. Before I got to my car to leave, I decided to take a long shot and went back to ask about a gun that was discontinued last year and I had been searching for online. Amazingly, one of their distributors still had one of those guns in stock and they quoted me a good price. Sold! :)

im a big fan of the guys at atlas - i do purchase online (sometimes out of necessity) but try to throw any business i can over their way.

for old milsurps - i usually go with gunbroker.com

for best prices i use https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/ and budsgunshop.com

for impulse purchases and transfers- atlas firearms.
