Nice looking sling! Do you have a stud and swivel on the buttstock?Lever guns need a little “special” put on their slings. I am not much on fancy tooling, colorings and such but simple basketweave or such adds a nice touch. Now if you really want to add a little color check around for a leather and horsehair sling …

… it adds some color in my opinion tasteful way.
That’s a Marlin and they are done at the factory. The parts are available but the front will have to be drilled and taped or the clamp on tube type.Nice looking sling! Do you have a stud and swivel on the buttstock?
Has Henry started shipping theres with swivel studs now ?Your Big Boy should come with studs from the factory so you can use swivels to attach the sling. Some will come with swivels while others you’ll need to buy separate. The above is an older Browning made sling and didn’t come with swivels. If you need to a pair of Uncle Mikes from Midway is about $10.
Last couple Big Boys I saw did have them from the factory … but I don’t remember the rimfires having them.Has Henry started shipping theres with swivel studs now ?
Just learned something new , thanks and I’m glad they are doing that. Now hopefully they will do the rim fires to.Last couple Big Boys I saw did have them from the factory … but I don’t remember the rimfires having them.

That's what is on mine and it just looks right. My lever action, I originally put a WW1 GI 1907 pattern leather sling on it. Those look pretty good on wood and blued steel lever-action rifles, and are plenty effective as both carrying and stabilizing implements if you know how to use it right.
Most definitely. It was recommended to me by someone who considers himself quite the aficionado on lever guns, so if he liked it, at that price I figured I may as well give it a try. That's what is on mine and it just looks right.
Can you use the 1907 like a Garand sling to stabilize? I haven't tried one.My lever action, I originally put a WW1 GI 1907 pattern leather sling on it. Probably more for carry since the .357 isn't really for long shots - but that 1907 looks interesting - I've just never tried one.@Gnash.Hyena brought up a valid point. What is your intended use for the sling? Some slings make great carrying options but are poor for stabilization. While others are great for stabilization and poor carrying options.
@RedneckFur would know the answer to this better than I would. Pinging for help. I think you can but I'm not sure how similar they are.Can you use the 1907 like a Garand sling to stabilize? I haven't tried one.
You absolutely can! It's a real sling, designed for stabilizing, with the added bonus that the second loop allows it to be used as a carrying strap. Can you use the 1907 like a Garand sling to stabilize? I haven't tried one.
I finally got my Big Boy and it doesn't have studs. It's the "Classic" model so that may be why. I may check out one of those wrap around the butt models.Last couple Big Boys I saw did have them from the factory … but I don’t remember the rimfires having them.
Try Brass Stacker for one … especially with the Classic model look.I finally got my Big Boy and it doesn't have studs. It's the "Classic" model so that may be why. I may check out one of those wrap around the butt models.
