With Zenitco being borderline impossible to get now have y’all come across any shops that are comparable to what Zenitco offers (handguards, dust covers, stocks,)? So far Texas weapons systems seem to be reputable for railed dust covers but there are naysayers on them as well.

The AK community is made up of a lot of people that will never have anything good to say about anything made in the USA

the best handguard is Occam Defense MERC
JMAC
SLR Rifleworks
Midwest Industries
Palmetto State Armory just introduced a new line “Soviet Arms”

Funny enough I just test-fired my M92 today, after installing several US-made aftermarket parts on it. That consists of the following:
Texas Weapon Systems M92 railed dust cover (I had to order the rear peep sight separately. It'll come in the mail... eventually...)
Krebs Custom ambi safety for Yugo AKs
Manticore Arms M92 handguard
ALG AK-E trigger
CNCwarrior/Bonesteel folding AR stock/brace adapter and 4pc booster brake
Magpul MOE+ AK grip (tbh I'm thinking about swapping over to the K2+ grip though)

All of these things are AK-specific, and all of the companies who made them are brands I would certainly recommend.

I'm also about to list an Ultimak rail for M92 AKs for sale as well. It's great, I just personally prefer the Manticore more. But Ultimak is another good company worth considering.

Fired a few magazines today both from the rest (had to zero the red dot) and standing. No problems whatsoever. The TWS I expect will hold zero just fine. I love this setup and look forward to mounting a WML on it. The TWS rail fits on tight if you follow TWS' instructions.

Yeah man it’s kind of a bummer how snobby the community is on a lot of pages, the reddit ak47 page especially is a cesspit. Thanks for the list!! I’ll check these out, checking out SLR now that place seems great and I’ll be checking them all out tonight. Didn’t even know about PSA doing a new line, kind of stoked about that, I’ve heard problems with their early gen AKs but their prices and commitment to the platform are starting to draw me in

I've been out of the AK game for a while, but between SLR, Midwest industries, ultimak, Krebs, manticore, etc, there's a ton of options.

how do you like the site height with the dust cover? I have a KUSA 103 that I’m considering either putting a Zhukov stock with a cheek riser on or getting this cover. I’d prefer to keep the original fixed stock, the side mount for my aimpoint just makes it a smidge high

I love it. As it sits now I think it's pretty comparable to a 1.93" height AR optic mount, which is my preferred sight height for LPVO and red dots anyway. It's very comfortable, fast and intuitive to get sight picture. My plan is to eventually swap that Sig Romeo 5 out for an Aimpoint T2 Micro on a Larue or similar no-rise QD mount. The TWS rail really puts the optic at just the right height IMO. I think the original fixed stock plus the TWS rail would be a great combo for you, especially based on what you're saying.
