Looking for the best outdoor storage for water. 55+ gal, and safe for sun exposure. Ideas? I'm open to all suggestions.

I've seen stuff at Lowes but not sure if it would be a good fit.

If you are talking “potable water” the 55 gallon food grade barrels work well for that but having your water in the sun in those blue barrels might promote some bacteria sooner than later.

I use surplus pickle barrels. Cheap , functional for watering around the yard. I added a spicket at the bottom.

275 or 310 gallon totes with metal cage. They are listed on Craig’s and Facebook marketplace all the time.
I use two for my chicken waterer and 3 for my honeybee feed.
Make sure you get food grade totes and you verify the previous contents before purchasing.

I keep my totes up on 3 concrete blocks on the corners. Every foot in height gives you 2 psi. That’s enough to give the chicken water nipples pressure to seal.
I keep the bee feed totes on two blocks. That’s high enough to fit a five gallon bucket under the tote spigot.

My issue with these is how to actually dispense the water, and having some sort of stand for them. Anyone know a good YT vid that goes through the process?

You can make a decent stand with blocks or wood. Depends on your desired use. I have a gutter on my 10 by 16 shed that keeps two totes filled for my chickens. All the parts are available at Lowes.
I use 35 gallon plastic barrels for bee feeding. Get a brass spigot from Lowes and drill hole with a hole saw for the size spigot you want. Put food grade silicone on both sides of the hole and tighten the nut on the spigot. Let it dry the hook a garden hose to it or just fill buckets with the spigot.
I recommend scuffing the area around the hole inside and out to give the silicone something to adhere too.

I built a rack out of 2x4s for 2ea 55 gallon barrels that I stored horizontally in my basement, but this would not be optimal for outdoor “exposed” storage.

There was a fellow on YT that used doubled up pallet racking to get his tanks up 12-14’ but he had a concrete slab floor. If I can remember the channel I’ll post it.
